Actually CNN is a much better choice for "news." Slashdot is more a place for stuff that may make you think, "Oh, that's kind of cool." You may not think this particular story is cool, but I sure hope that you don't use Slashdot as your only source of information on world events.:)
Yep, and I just picked up a copy of Gattaca for $5 yesterday...
Coincidence?
...final fantasy VXIII...
Is anyone else trying to figure out which one this is?
FYI, it's just in alphabetical order.
If you're asking if I could create lvl 60 WoW characters instead of spending tons of time grinding them out, the answer is a resounding "Yes."
Granted, WoW is a timesink in and of itself, but I'd rather waste my time in the parts of the game I find fun.
You've never seen a file cabinet?
While the comment is pretty funny, you should try this:
/usr/src/linux
cd
find . -name *.c | xargs grep -n for\(\;\;
for(;;) seems to be the typical kernel version of while(1).
Or if you prefer clicking buttons, just go grab the Tabbrowser Preferences extension.
Ya, they probably do claim that.
I think everyone wore themselves out on the other thread, thus the apocalypse may be averted.
Ya, we need a machine that can stop people from hacking into it via social engineering.
Hmm, 1/3 the cost, 1/2 the longevity.
Sounds like a good deal to me!
I prefer frist psot
Of course they don't enforce this. If they did, no one could host a multiplayer video game, and that would seriously upset their customers.

They haven't even upped the normal 2 meg ones yet...
:)
Not that I'm really bothered by it, it's just always fun to see huge claims.
You betcha.
Security IS a binary state. This state is false.
Article? What's an article? :)
I'm curious what (if anything) these text editors have to do with the X copy/paste problem.
Vim/emacs are very sophisticated programs that aren't meant for "newbies" at all. Most distros that I've seen come with much simpler notepad clones.
/me waits for all of the comments about the newish small form factor PCs...
Hey, didn't John Connor already have one of these? His would even crack PINs and stuff too!
I don't know... I'd probably rank MS software "up" there as well. I've had quite a bit of trouble with Logitech's mouse software...
"Of course, there are people with perfect pitch who can't carry a tune with their voice."
Seriously?? Wow... I've never heard of this.
On another note...I WISH I had perfect pitch...
You're new to the human race, aren't you? :)
Um, no.
They could only do this if their competitor(s?) raised their prices accordingly. Otherwise, they'd just lose the consumer market.
