I assume that they will pick the games, so that sucks.
Better yet would be a US$120 credit in my account for me to spend as I wish. Or they could offer a choice of two of any downloadable game they offer. That would be a boon to older titles.
But even better, just improve their security so it doesn't happen again.
SONY appears awfully inept in their response to and handling of this problem, making the Pakistani Intelligence Agency look like rocket scientists in comparison.
Any kind of mechanical device, out out in the real world, will eventually make it into the hands of the "enemy". There have always been technology transfers via this mechanism. If it was so damn important, it shoud never have been put into the field.
Until the recent hack of nearly 100 million accounts, no one had heard of Sony, so they were secure by being obscure. That's always a good IT decision.
Or perhaps the problem will be better solved by giving them easier access to credit - from reputable sources such as banks that don't charge ursurous amounts of interest, coupled with sound financial advice designed to prevent them getting into a debt spiral as a result of trying to give their children a chance to get out of the poverty trap.
While the APR may seem outrageous on these items, the actual dollar amount of the effective "finance charge" is relativelysmall when you consider the cost of originating, processing and administrating these "loans". These companies only make huge amounts of money because of the large number of loans/sales they make.
A small loan for a laptop is not the kind of loan a bank would make. If your next alternative is a finance company, well, that's pretty much what these RTO places are.
It is dangerous to depend on C#, so we need to discourage its use.
The problem is not unique to Mono; any free implementation of C# would raise the same issue. The danger is that Microsoft is probably planning to force all free C# implementations underground some day using software patents. (See http://swpat.org/ and http://progfree.org./ This is a serious danger, and only fools would ignore it until the day it actually happens. We need to take precautions now to protect ourselves from this future danger.

Mandriva has a much better default implementation of the Gnome desktop and is very user friendly. As somebody who helped write a book about fedora, I would not recommend it as a desktop. Too much extra configuration to get it "right".
One of the first distros with a decent default configuration that "just worked' was Mandrake, now Mandriva. They gad a brief hiccup due to poor management but Mandriva 2010.2 was one of their best releases ever. Again, it "just worked" and had a huge software repository. And again, they had a management hiccup and most of their devs left to start Mageia, which promises to carry on all the best that was Mandriva/Mandrake including sane and useful default settings and configurations. Mageia is now just in in final beta before their first release, but Mandriva 2010.2 is done, polished and constantly updated. You should try it if you are dissatisfied with the lack of user choice provided by Ubuntu. http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=mandriva
Every day, they admit its getting a little bit worse. Just a teenie tiny little itty bitty bit worse. Oh wait, were we talking about Sony or the reactors here?
Talking about the Sony nuclear reactors, of course. Built like the Titanic, they are the pride of Sony.
To install Windows 7 would be a downgrade for Linux and BSD users, so that's already covered. The Feds correctly assume that most Windows users would not be up to installing or using Linux or BSD, so their only hope is to upgrade to Windows 7 even though that's like putting on a condom after sex with a hooker.

And can it run Quake?

Women can pee standing up.
Really.

Same clueless users.

Switching to a Mac is a pretty significant UI change from Windows, but nobody seems to think that's such a big deal
Because the Mac interface is actually very good, while Unity and Gnome 3 are atrocious.
Only because there are no Unity fanbois.
Let's all remember how much we hated XP when it came out, and then how much we wanted Windows 7 to be XP when it came out.
I always revert to XP "Classic" when I am forced to install it. I still dislike the XP UI: extra flash with no benefit.
... then maybe it's time to switch to Fedora?

From the Google Earth photo, Abbottabad looks to be a well-populated area with a circular road aptly named "Circular Road".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbottabad_District
Named after General Sir James Abbott KCB (12 March 1807 – 6 October 1896) who was a British army officer in colonial India.
This seems like a pretty solid example of "resisting arrest". Obama said there was a gunfight in the compound.
