The internet should be uncensored... PERIOD. Throwing unlawful in means that one day they could pass a law that says any speech against the government is unlawful.
I say they meaning our government... It used to be by the people, after all.
Slap a moderate GPU in your system and use it to render. You'll save LOADs of time over the CPU. Really, the GPU is a DSP that can get the job done for rendering tasks.
I'm 27 and I still get freaked when I need to have blood taken from me. Any needle really does it. In fact, the last time I had a blood test, my body just shut down and stopped pumping blood. The nurse couldn't get the second vial filled before I told her I was about to pass out.
It was a weird feeling, but I didn't pass out. Crazy stuff.
Oh good, another person that blindly supports a political party.
There are stupid people in BOTH parties. These are PROGRESSIVE ideas and progressives have invaded both parties. Who care what party they are from if the policy is bad.
I guess you're okay with the situation now since it a Democrat in power? You should ALWAYS deny the government any additional power at the expense of your individual rights.
I agree. There should be no "protected" speech. It is ALL free speech. If there is something we can't say (political correctness), that's no longer free speech. What the hell is happening to us?
Your feelings not being hurt aren't a right. Speaking freely is a right. By the way, it isn't a government given right. You are born that way.
This is history of man, not of nature. Political correctness was everywhere in my textbooks as well. I turned out to be a libertarian.
Evolution is evident, it is all around us.
Regardless, if parents want to teach their kids that an alien came to earth and made all of humanity, so be it. It isn't the government's right to deny the parents teachings to their children. This is why there is such a large debate about teaching evolution. All this would be easier if schools weren't publicly funding and parents paid for school DIRECTLY. Vote with your dollars.
The problem isn't with the ISPs, then... It is with the government that granted the monopolies. The government is the problem. I agree with you. I cringe when people yield any power to the government. They (the government) forgot that "We the people" are the government... We will wake up and take it back, hopefully...
Actually, no. I'm in agreement. I was just waiting to see if I would get flamed for that. Slashdot is a pretty progressive (IE: Progressivism) place and tax is the basic tool that progressives use to control the public.
I see posts that are advocating legislation from the bench. This is not the purpose of the court. The court is only there to decide the constitutionality of an issue. They are not there to do anything more.
If you don't like the law, you need to petition congress... UNLESS the law is unconstitutional, then you can take it to the courts.
I don't understand this argument. So it is the government's job to force companies to do something by creating a penalty based on some random gas that people need to live?
And this is supply and demand?
Hmm, sounds like a classic redistribution of wealth curve...
When the government forces you to do something against your will, it is not compassion.
There is another point... The government of the USA is by the people. It is not some deity (though, they'd like that). The government cannot be compassionate, period. The people can.
I'm a libertarian and I don't like unfair taxes as much as the next person... but the dude that crashed into the IRS was wrong. Killing people is wrong, period. You don't make a stand against the government by killing people like that.
I went to the same school (Masters as well) and I usually did coursework in groups as it was easier for other people to learn by doing problems together. I wasn't a computer science person, but a computer engineering grad. Less programming.
By the way, Stevens doesn't give engineering degrees anymore! I'm glad I got one (BEng, MEng). Class of 2005 (BEng) and 2006 (MEng). How about you?
You don't need term limits if our citizens would stop voting in the same bad people. It is as simple as that. I live in NJ and we finally elected a new governor that wasn't the incumbent. Term limits aren't the answer. Getting more people involved and respecting how and why our system works is the answer. And no, there should never be a "career politician."
I watch Fox News... Can you explain to me just how what you're feeling is the same as what I'm feeling? I'm tired of seeing our freedoms being flushed down the toilet by both parties.
Oh, you're probably painting me as a stupid person (for watching Fox News), right?
Not at all. With/home on its own partition, settings will migrate over (personal settings, not system (/etc)). I've done this a bunch of times and it works fine. Lately I've been going the upgrade routine, but sometimes it is just easier to clean install off a CD rather than waiting x hours for the damn updates to download and install.

You mean playing cards, right?
What???

Let me guess... Your favorite news station is MSNBC, right? I hope they move to a subscription model as well.

So, what you're saying is that taxes are the problem...

Because they fully support Linux.
And I also bought the game for Linux. I'd rather support a company that provides software natively than having to run a Windows app through WINE.

We should probably name this.
Let's call them... "Reapers."
A progressive is a progressive no matter which party they are under. The D or the R doesn't matter, stop thinking one party is better than the other.
Political parties are just bad for this country. Washington knew it. And by Washington, I mean the founding father.
Wait, have you played the original Sonic games on the Genesis? If so, how can you say that ANY 3D Sonic game is good?
Hopefully SEGA won't screw up with Sonic 4. After the crap they continually push out in the Sonic realm, one must wonder...

I know this is off topic, but why would you want to opt out of sex?
Ohh, this IS Slashdot...
(Laugh, it's a joke)
Hmm, 0, Offtopic for mine, +1 funny for the dude that spelled a wrong word making fun of me.
Strange that my offtopic post said that I'm tired of seeing our freedoms being lost, I believe that was the topic of the thread.
Where's the -1, Libertarian?
I watch Fox News... Can you explain to me just how what you're feeling is the same as what I'm feeling? I'm tired of seeing our freedoms being flushed down the toilet by both parties.
