I noticed the same thing years ago when I was younger... if you take a hair brush, you can toss it in the air and watch the revolutions to see why it might work on a mathematical level (obviously it's harder to see coin flips:))
Toss by the handle, catch by the handle. If you give it the right flick of the wrist, the handle lands right in your hand. Subconsciously, the way we flip and catch the coin may influence the outcome by causing us to catch it at the exact point in the arc that it returns to its original state.
I was talking about the size in gigabytes (ouch), but physical size is a good point too. I wonder if it would fit in my hat (a Tilley T3). That would be fun.:)
"their" is gaining popularity in the common vernacular as a way to create genderless sentences without having to resort to stupid "He/She" constructs. It may not be correct now, but if it gains more acceptance, it could be considered correct at some time in the future.
We're talking about Siberia here, after all. Hit the northern regions with the right light-filters, and you can probably simulate any barren wasteland you want.:)
The nearly-unhindered ability for American corporations to play both sides of any conflict is the single defining fact that has allowed the United States to become the dominant world power it is today.
I suppose the vulgarity of corporate dehumanization isn't solely the property of the US, but they damn well perfected it.:)

... except paper. But scissors cut paper! And rock smashes scissors!
*pauses a moment to think*
Kif, we have a conundrum!
Your computer is broadcasting an internet address!
Well duh. :P
I just thought it would be funny to make a Linux distro that turns into a solid rock statue when you look at it the wrong way.
I heard that Gentoo can be fully customized into a perfectly-tailored distribution .... ... if that is true, can I make Gentoo Tanooki Linux?
I happen to have seen some fairly elegant and well-written creative LiveJournal posts. Once or twice. :)
I fully support using world leaders as ammunition to deflect asteroids.
I, for one, welcome our new Madmen-flinging overlords.
Not with all the lossy codecs out there ... ... oh, wait, you mean "IN the clear", my bad.
Alright, well, pretend I said "Joint Strike Fighter" then. ;-)
700 Acre Island in Canada, 6.5 million Canadian
700 acres oughta be enough to land an F18.
RedHat.

... I thought the B2 ("Stealth Bomber") had no Air-To-Air? Why is the F117A called a "Stealth Fighter" if it can't fight?
... that's almost 1/3rd the size of my hard drive.
:)
I really need to upgrade my hardware some time
It's a plane ... what are they going to do, send out an F117A and shoot you down?
:)
Come to think of it, they would, wouldn't they? Nevermind. Just buy the island and get out of the damned country.
You can acquire a private island for less than $9 million. A fair bit less.

Eleven years. Dozens of exploits, perhaps hundreds.
I once used a pringles can, 100M of string, and some bubblegum to send a Manchester-encoded bitstream at 5mbps ... ... I am batman!
Hey, I resemble that remark. That's an insult to CS100 students. :)
I think he meant a desktop/server thing, as opposed to a toaster OS. He has a valid point, in my opinion. I could probably run NetBSD on my watch. :)
They do Handhelds, right? I want a FreeBSD handheld. Cute mascot, established ports system, lots of support; FreeBSD has everything! :)
... just ignore me ...)
(Okay, I'm trolling
Really, is a building necessary?
:)
