So, when's the last time Microsoft blew up your airplanes and buildings and stuff? Microsoft's activities and terrorism aren't the same ballpark. Hell, it isn't even the same sport.
"There is no leeway for arguement in that."
From now on I'm ending all my posts with that statement.
Oh grow up. I don't think the ascii goatse is all that offensive since it's, well, ascii for christ's sake. I appreciate that you think you're protecting your fellow slashdotter from gazing into the goatse void, but it's not really needed.
Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks. Hank: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third. Homer: Uh-huh. Hank: There's Hammocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There? Homer: Mm-Hmm. Hank: That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the hammock complex on third. Homer: Oh, the hammock district. Hank: That's right.

I fuck off online. Like right now, for instance.
I used to think the drug lifestyle was the greatest, until I discovered the BOFH lifestyle.
Right now, one of the only things to stop them would be the lack of space
Doubtful. Your average Dell buying drone doesn't fill the 80 gig drive they get within the lifetime of their pc, and probably isn't l33t enough to know where to get movies anyway.
This probably just means that software is going to expand to fill the available space. Now windows xyz2005 can take up 4 gigs and photoshop 9 can take another 2 because they know people have it.
As far as geeks go, well, I'm sure we can figure out a way to fill up these bad boys.
Maybe you're just trolling, but whatever. I'm sure yours is a popular sentiment,
What you're missing is that all of this is supposed to be fun, too. It's not all buisness, you know. One of the cooler aspects of open source projects is that while the bottom line is important, it's not all there is.
Live a little, or at least don't whine when others do.
Where did this "microsoft loses $200 per box" thing come from? Does anyone have a link to share about this?
Last I checked, the boxes were retailing for $199. Do these machines really cost 400 bucks to manufacture? Isn't that a little steep?
Just wonderin'...

You're posting on slashdot.
Pot, meet kettle.
We all have our hobbies.

These searches aren't preventing "another 9/11 style attack" at all. Those guys weren't smuggling anything into the country.

She's the one on the right.
Surprisingly enough, that's the second wkrp post.
Slashdot sure is strange sometimes.
touché
Actually, they had a few paragraphs.
I can't believe that you used the phrase "journalistic additions" in reference to slashdot content.
Fuck on.
Touché, but I don't think you posted that because I wanted to get picky...
Yup. k5 had it first.

There are no people from Zimbabwe in my kitchen, therefore airplanes don't exist.
I guess it all depends on what kind of chicks you're looking to impress.
I'm using an iMac running OS X as my mail and http server at home. It runs Apache, imap-uw, sendmail, all that good shit. It's more than a toy.
Sure, I could do that with a cheap linux box, but chicks dig Macs and it looks great in my apartment.

What I want to know is how they made a 200GB hard drive with 60GB platters. Doesn't seem to add up.
Easy. Large values of 60 or small values of 200.

I'm not postitive, but I don't think QNX is any fun.
At least I hope it isn't, for IT's sake.
