This is a huge problem in the area I drive in DC (Constitution.) To make matters worse, there's a stop light every 10 feet. This causes a major slinky effect with the traffic, leading to blocked intersections and people running yellow lights any chance they get. I don't understand why they haven't sychronized the lights yet, ESPECIALLY during rush hour. I guess it isn't as profitable as cameras.
That's quite a task. It would take a long time to personally provide treatment for every dieseased person on the planet. And alot of them don't even have cures.
And how many of those starving people are in that position because of their oppresive governments? And how much of that aid goes to supporting those oppresive regimes and how much actually makes it to the starving people?
And if we stopped paying farmers NOT to harvest crops, we would have more food, too.
"Happy Birthday" no longer has a copyright restricting it; aka public domain.
This is incorrect. Ever wonder why restaurants sing some stupid slap-happy custom song rather than "Happy Birthday"? It's because they don't want to get sued by ASCAP.
IBM is still supporting OS/2, true, but the 'how' and the 'whom' it's supporting has changed. Once OS/2 was clearly marketed for the home user. This is certainly not the case anymore.
Yeah, I prefer to get all mine on vinyl!
Werd.
I'm sorry, you're not allowed to spell that word correctly here. The official /. spelling is 'rediculous.'
SYNCHRONIZE THE LIGHTS!

I'm glad I work for the government now....
Working for Uncle Sugar does have its advantages sometimes.
I would much rather cure the diseases personally.

The good news is that shooting deaths will drop dramatically since nobody will be able to hit the broad side of a barn with a gun.
Considering that nearly all of the evidence was processed through the government, which is also the accusing party...
Then every court system in the world is suspect and all convicted criminals everywhere should be released immediately.
Can you prove that all of the evidence that we have seen (such as it was) wasn't faked? Can you prove that the government didn't do it itself?
No. Can you prove Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy don't exist? No. You can't prove a negative.
Does it take much intelligence to see why people dislike/dispise you so?
Guess what, we don't care!
No problem, just change the CD spec to 1 byte per CD. Then you only have to worry about 8 lenses.
The Kenwood is great for pristine, unscratched CDs. But it has trouble with scratched and/or burned CDs.
We CAN "vote out" Microsoft. People just have to stop buying their products. Most people don't want to do that, though.
taxes are there for a reason
To get money from people who don't know better?

Paragraphs. Learn 'em, love 'em.

You basically just have to tweak the harmonic resonance to the flux capacitor
Then all you need to do is get the machine up to 55MPH and supply 1.21 Gigawatts.
NOT Tauzin-Dingell
I always laugh when I hear that name. Sounds like it could be the punchline to a bad joke (toes n' dingle.)
The current system is not working and the free market is, by and large, not solving the problem.
The problem is: 'The current system' != 'free market'.
Finally, if all else fails go back to Dial up. Its not all that bad.
Yes, it is. When you get used to broadband, you forget how painful dialup can be. Switch back for a week and see.
I cannnot think of another industry/service that does this.
I can think of two right off the bat. Airlines overbook and telephone companies don't have the capacity to serve all their customers at the same time.
The only problem with that is mp3s at 128kbps sound like crap. Once you learn to hear the artifacts, they're hard to ignore.
Why am I a consumer just because I am accessing the Internet?
Gee, maybe because you're accessing a commercial website?
I regret to inform you that your real dad was the milkman. How does he know that? Because lawyers only know how to fuck people in the ass.
