That's a false analogy. Are you telling me that the founders of Pirate Bay are completely oblivious that their site mainly trafficked in copyright materials? Your analogy would be more apt if you were giving directions to where to find a drug dealer, or the people looking for a convenience store had a ski mask on and guns in hand.
I prefer how Captain Picard said it. "We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further! And I will make them pay for what they've done"
I think blaming the tool is the wrong move here. I WANT the remote wipe feature on my iPhone to totally wipe everything out and not leave behind photos, contacts etc. Do you think letting a mugger keep your phone with photo library will not cause further risk? Heck, even giving granular wipe control (which would be a logistical nightmare to implement on so many vendors) could be a bad idea, I feel like that feature could be abused far more. You'll be hearing about CEOs who order everyone's photos wiped after the company holiday party etc.
Waving everything through is as good as no security at all. The recent bombs from Yemen showed that the TSA should be inspecting small electronics and print cartridges and yet they aren't. As the GP said, so much for effective security.
I've called 911 at least half a dozen times in New York, they never ask my name until just before they say its OK to hang up.
I think that allowing it would wreck the system. Everyone except these Virginian idiots it seems knows you have to dial 911. Texting 911 takes longer, lacks location info, and requires a back and forth conversation; one text message "I need cops now !!1!" will do nothing by itself. Once you allow texting, I worry that more people will do it and 911 overall will have a slower response
Back in like 1905, corporations paid 50% of all Federal taxes, meaning individuals weren't taking the hit. Now corporations are paying like 5% of the federal taxes. I'd say rebalance the taxes onto corporations.
the only purpose to use the dialer is to call a 3rd party number that re-dials the number you wanted to call so that they see your google voice name/number on their caller ID. You're still using your cellphone carrier's voice minutes. For now, it won't work on iPod or iPad. There are Third party GV apps that will make your phone ring instead.
I love the idea, but question whether these national boycott days actually do anything. People tried it for gasoline, walmart, etc.
Instead, how about telling your representative in Congress how much you hate the idea of scanning under the clothes? They are the only people who have power over this stuff. Just send them a quick email using the form: http://www.house.gov/writerep/
Careful when you throw such statements around eg "muslims have been taught to hate jews." I certainly wasn't. I also know plenty of Muslims who grew up in jewish neighborhoods of Brooklyn. Maybe you could be more specific, such as "Saudis have been taught to hate jews" rather than imply that the billions of Muslims are all that way
Development in that case isn't an issue, a poor democracy like India is probably much fairer than a rich monarchy dictatorship like Saudi Arabia. Don't judge religion on that basis when there are other variables. I don't see Muslims in Senegal or Malaysia or Bangladesh acting that way.
So by that logic, America deserved another terrorist attack because they re-elected Bush? Collective punishment is never justified, even if the majority voted for criminals. Did 100% vote for Hamas?
I'm getting so sick and tired of these Web 2.0 names that try to copy Google. JooJoo, BeBo, Gadu gadu, ooVoo, etc. Why not stick with decent names like iPad, LifeBook, Slate, and Galaxy?
What if people just increment their passwords? Every few years (or password expires) I just increase the number at the end. Mine is now TrustNobody2009. It expires the older password and still keeps it easy to remember

Yes but most of the people in Indonesia don't have smart phones, and would probably get it via SMS

I'm assuming the corporation is smart enough to give employees notice of the policies when they sign up

Wouldn't the sound of texting or the ringer when it gets a reply be the giveaway then?

My first thought was making it look like a Homonculus

"I'm not trying to put Android down, but... it can get greater marketshare and still be crappy."
I'm just not able to trust AT&T on anything after seeing these stats:

It doesn't work on iPad either, since the iPad can't place calls. Google's app has no VoIP support

How about Uganda, which is pushing in a bill that makes homosexuality a capital crime? Also, they have the (Christian?) Lord's Resistance Army.

They didn't abandon it, the Mac is 22% of their profits, did you not hear about the Back To the Mac event where they announced OS X 10.7 Lion?

There's nothing wrong with being a trust fund baby. We all wanna be one, don't be jealous. What would you expect, you'd turn 18 and give it all away?
To you maybe. Most users don't quite know how to use BitTorrent or how to search a tracker.
