    Sorry, you are flat wrong.

    Saddam *asked* the US permission to invade Kuwait, citing territory issues over oil. We agreed not to intervene on what we ( at the time) considered to be a domestic (between Iraq and Kuwait) issue.

    Saddamn, armed with assurances from the US, did exactly what he said he was going to do, and then we changed our minds.

    No wonder half the world hates us...

    to bring back a rare animal. You talk of dogs and cats, but this can extend to exotics as well, like Pandas, or Zomodo Dragons, or other species that are rapidly becoming extinct.

    I had a Roughneck Monitor (Varanus Rudicolis) that was my companion through all kinds of life experiences. He died unexpectedly and I was devastated.

    I would give anything to be able to have him back, this news comes about 4 years too late, but I can only see benefits to this program.

    Used to be (way back in 2003 or so) AdAware was all you needed (and Norton AV or a workalike)

    But now, man some of the things I've seen are really nasty!

    You wipe 'em out, they come back, they hide from searches, morph into other programs, I've even seen one (I shit you not, I've been in IT for 10+ years, never seen anything like this one!) that was active even when the infected drive was placed as a slave on another machine, it started right up and infected the new PC.

    This goes way beyond simple syware, these people are teaming up and it's just the beginning.

    I recall back in the early 80s I was in a Singer shop (as in sewing machines) and they sold IBM PCs as well.... ...including speech to text recognition software.

    I tried it out, and surprise! it didn't work very well.

    I see nothing has changed.

    There's a .sig around here that says something to the effect of using Linux for work, and windows for game playing.

    But that's what I do. Nor does the windows machine have an internet access (and we all know why windows and the internet are a bad thing right? Right.)

    So, yes, I play games on my windows box. And that's all I do with it. Everything else is taken care of by my BeOS and SkyOS box.

    But since you *have* to be on-line to activate the game, and there appears not to be any way aorund that (i.e. no phone activation) I'm gonna have to give this one a pass.

    Bummer, I was looking forward to it.

    How far does it extend? I know non-profits are supposeedly exempt, but can you tell them you are on the DNCL anyway?

    What about companies you deal with? Case in point, my bank calls me *constantly* with BS deals for house loans, car loans, crap like that, can I tell them to FOAD?

    Esp. now that the DNCL has been delared valid!

    Many a famous and noteworthy person gained popularity and power by simply being honest. If you expect to lead this country, and want the faith and trust of the American people, then you would do well by do just that.

    I know this is in jest, but considering all the viruses designed to target the latest MS OSes, I'd say surfing the Internet on a Win95 box is *more* secure than the XP one...(remember, Win95 didn't have IE 'integrated')

    Heck, the engine *started* with 150 HP, and that was stock...it's not too hard to get better HP from that engine, only the emission controls and fuel considerations were a factor. Remove those, and 300 is *easy*

    By the way...I get 10 MPG if I'm lucky...consider that.....

    I found blueprints on the web to put an eaton supercharger on it, but this was after I'd done all the mods, and I've have to undo most of them (go back to single stromberg, reduce compression to 7.5 (or so):1...so I passed)

    I've also owned an rx-7 (1989) and 300 zx (1993) (as well as Alfas, Lancias, and Maseratis) I prefer the TVR because it was hand built, and it "feels" like it has a soul, unlike the 300 zx which was very sterile.

    The TVR will out handle everything I've owned with the possible exception of my 1976 Lancia Scorpion.

    No A/C, but it's got a sunroof that opens nearly the whole top, good air flow there. Got leather seats too (very snug for my 130 lb frame), Koni shocks all around as well as disc brake in front (drums in rear sadly, but it stops well)

    It's so loud I can't hear the radio, but I don't care..the engine is music enough!

    Not hard to do, the webers help, as do headers, and 10:1 compression (the iron block and heads will gladly take this) it's also only a 2000 lb car (fibreglas and whatnot) so it's *really* fast.

    It's what I drive. FYI it lacks the following:

    Anti-lock brakes
    Air bags
    Crumple zones
    emmissions controls (well, beyond a o2 sensor anyway)
    5 mph bumpers
    fuel injection

    What it DOES have is the following:

    300 RWD HP
    Manual Transmission
    Limited Production
    Triple Weber Carbs (a conversion from the original dual Strombergs)
    Straight pipes
    LOTS of sex appeal

    IMO this is what the world needs more of, loud fast *sexy* cars. Down with Toyota Echos!

    (note, for those of you who do not get this post, I do drive this car in reality, but the post is for humor)

    Small nitpick, the last line spoken by Six, was revised for the TV release. Dunno why. I do have teh original trailer when it came out, Six said something to the effect of Hyperdrive not being useable when entering (or near) the Edgeworth Hypersmiley.

    GoBe Productive, small, fast, and works under BeOS (oh, and Windows too)

    AbiWord is nice is you run a non-MS platform, as AbiWord has been ported to everything but Amiga (as far as I know)

    Coming from 5 years experience using only Seagates, I found that after the switch from a 3 year to 1 year warranty, the number of Seagates (from new) that I had to RMA went up *dramatically*.

    Here's hoping they improve their quality with the improved warranty.

    I still like Seagates, don't get me wrong, just not as much as I used to.

    Agreed-

    IN fact, several of my clients can't tell when they have viruses that cause their system to go haywire, they merely assume Windows is being Windows, and it's time for a wipe and re-install.

    Sad how many people can get used to such poor software.
