A single sting of their hideous neurotoxin can cause instant death!" Hermes: "And that's if you're not allergic! You don't wanna know what happens then, oh no no, God no." Because I don't personally have the opportunity to benchmark every phone I'm considering buying - and benchmark data provides a clearer picture than the names and speeds of similar-sounding chips.
We know people game benchmarks - but a least we get in the ballpark.
I can't tell you how happy I've been buying the Google-direct versions of the Galaxy Nexus (original) and HTC One - both completely free of not only carrier bloat, but vendor homescreens and app-launchers.
The purchase price of a new electric is pretty much in line of other new cars. So either a new car is afordable or it isn't.
You can lease the basic model of a Nissan Leaf (which gets about 90 miles on a full charge if you drive it in "granny mode") for about $240/mo after taxes, and fully charge it to the extent of the lease mileage for $20/mo in electricity. That's $260/mo for 1000 miles. 26 cents a mile might not be worth it to replace your current car (unless you only get 14mpg), but electric cars with (near) 100 mile range aren't expensive.
Purchaing? About $25,000 after the tax credit -- which if you can afford a new car, you'll likely qualify for. Pretty competitive for new cars.
As I understand it, if you travel to a country/to/ skirt US laws, and the US knows, they'll try to nab you. If, while in another country, you just/happen/ to do something against US law, you're generally in the clear.
While rural New Mexico might be extreme, there's a reason that places like Phoenix AZ are filled with new data centers and skilled IT staff. Need a disaster recovery site? Put it here, or in Nevada. Flood? Hurricane? Earthquake? Tornados? You must be kidding.
Sure, it's not the tech density of San Jose, but it's kitten-safe from a disaster standpoint.

You mean that if I use internet provided by a business, that my browsing activity might be monitored?
Color me shocked.
The joy of a Clancy book was the first 200 or so pages of unrelated stories that wouldn't come together until page 600.

Incredible read - thanks for the link.

You need Monster(tm) cables to go beyond 11 without sacrificing quality.

Is chicken poop + fuel oil explosive? Probably.
Is chicken poop + fuel oil ANFO? No.

7% of all humans who have ever lived are still alive today.

I resisted virtual keyboards. It was natural, I assume. I had resisted T9 predictive text before that.
Today's good keyboards, like Swiftkey or Swype (which I prefer), are great. Dragon is leaps and bounds ahead of where it was years ago.
I don't miss having a physical keyboard on my phone.
I don't miss having T9 typing.
I adapted.
You can too.
Ultin I can buy replacement headphones using this technology on DealExtreme for $2 shipped, it's a novelty at best.
So much angst.

Once you reach the limits of the Yamaha, then move on...

Mechanical force isn't necessrary. Threat of violence or threat of other reprocussions are enough.
