I think that the 6502 was not the result of evolution, but rather it had a Creator and was the product of Intelligent Design. There are just so many subtle clues that suggest features that were deliberately put in there. Could natural selection really explain how it had two different indirect access modes, one that selects a direct index from an offset, and the other adds the offset to the index?
These researchers may be trying to apply the wrong methods to a device that is almost certainly the product of a higher power.
I have seen places where it is impossible to park. Notably in San Francisco and New York City. It is NOT possible to park anywhere close to where you want to unload your cargo. That's the way it is. Deal with it.
In SF for 1997 ISPCON, I paid to park in a garage and carried heavy boxes a long way to get to the hotel and convention center. There was NO POSSIBLE way I could have parked in front and just carried my gear in. Without losing my car... Or worse.
I like where you are going with this. I was thinking of concrete walls: ICF (insulated concrete forms). No windows. And if you have a tunnel, do you need a door? Maybe have a roof exit and ladder for a real emergency. Meth heads would have a hard time figuring out how to get in. And I guarantee you will not hear any road noise.
Going back to the windows, how about installing real windows inside (behind the concrete) with variable lighting and images that can be replaced? I have often thought about having a man cave that looked like something from the USS Enterprise, with windows that showed a star field or some interesting space feature.

So Samsung is offering a hundred bucks for the return of their "Note 7" phone. The summary does not tell the price paid for these. If the price was a hundred bucks, this seems like a decent offer, but I suspect that people paid a lot more for these smart phones and will have to pay a lot to convert/trade them for safe phones. Could we get some facts on the dollars involved for the customers?

I took their car rental numbers and my wife called the company and got them set up to get a replacement car. The next morning, I gave them the information and helped them get on their way. This should be an "easy A", non? They thanked me in their review, but my score dropped anyway. I guess waiting late and dealing with rental companies on behalf of guests is expected for hosts.

What if I consider this a matter of civil disobedience? The law is wrong, and I will defy it. Sometimes bad laws are impossible to remove through the regular system because the system is corrupt, and civil disobedience is the only way to get started on a fix. I am not proposing that VW is using this angle, but am offering it as an analogy. Bad laws should be opposed, one way or another.

I have been thinking about this for some time. My first idea was how to deal with the problem of when governments dictate to the root servers that domains should be erased or the nameservers changed, against the will of the domain owners. I was thinking of changes to nameservers so that they keep a historical database of changes in the IP addresses of a domain's nameservers and some way for end users to add some token to a domain name to indicate they want to use the older (correct) nameservers instead of the current (stolen) ones.
Now I am wondering if it would be possible to have a parallel DNS system where a blockchain broadcasts changes in the root DNS information (domain name to nameserver IP) and the domain owners sign changes so that everyone knows that the change is authentic. To willingly transfer a domain, the owner could give the signing keys to the new owner. As a parallel system, a caching resolver could first look in the blockchain, and if the domain is not participating, then go to the root servers. One obvious issue is how the real owners would prove initial ownership when registering with the new system. Maybe proving that they control the domain by creating a specific host record in that domain?
