So I guess it will be closed during thunder storms or what?:D
What is the procedure regarding the weater on coasters, besides I guess it would suck to ride them in the rain. Although you could have a lightning without the raining at that excact moment. hmm
I have had 2 quickcams, and the image quality is anything than impressing. The only good thing about it was that there was a program to get the pictures for FreeBSD. Oh and they are cheap too. But wouldn't you rather use a camera with a bit better image quality for things like that?
A lot of spammers like to guess names, like datacommarketing.
On the mail servers I manage, they just keep sending mails to all kinds of addresses. like this:

After a while it get's annoying and you block their entire subnet in the firewall.
I can't figure out why Worldcom wants to provide them with traffic. Maybe they need the money.:)
I visited their site once where they claimed that all their emails where opt-in. So is it opt-in as in "the email-adr exists so they must want spam"?
At least where I live. So many sites has been shutdown because they offered FREE ringtones of copyrighted songs.
So new pay sites came along, then then even ad's on tv for those sites. The kids love those ring tones, and those guys in the sales dept.
What do you do when the market for your industrial robots just isn't big enough?
You develop something new(or take the existing product and put a clock in it) that make use of your existing knowledge and products.
It should be good for those places with limited space.
I have seen that Digitally Imported has a audio P2P option from allcast.
I am not using it personally as I am listening to the shoutcast streams on my Audiotron, so I don't know if it's worth anything, but the idea is nice.
In case it gets slashdotted I have pasted the page here,,, wait aww, nevermind.

so where's the incentive?
There's isn't one, which is why it won't sell. Hell, if I lived in the US I wouldn't care about fuel economy or pick up friends to split the costs of fuel when driving across the country for xmas. But since the fuel price is so high, I buy a small car(there are better things in life to waste money on, than fuel) and make arrangements so the car is filled up with people for those long trips in the holidays.
I the price of fuel was half of what it is, I would have a car that uses twice the amount of fuel and we would all own a car and drive by ourself.
Looks like a Quickcam on top. I think they should raise the price just a bit so you actually can see what the camera is pointing at.
But then again it does look like something from a sci-fi movie with those blurry off-color video streams.
I used to get about 15 spam mails everyday. Then I activated some of the open relay checks and it did get 14 of them.
These days I no longer get any mails from open relays.
From time to time I do see a spam mail, it mostly comes from someone abusing a proxy/cache server via the CONNECT method.
You should check out
http://www.hessdalen.org/ where they have an automatic measurement station. There have been many sightings of lights. So they have a Sun box controlling some cameras, taking pictures etc,,,, well look for yourself. Even if you are not info spooky lights, it is still an interesting project from a technical perspective.
All I what for xmas is one of those fancy "Rhesus monkey torture kits". I just hope that the one who buys it for me, remembers that the monkey is not included.:-O
Yes, I wrote a letter to a national newspaper that they should stop putting his face on the front of the web edition of their paper. It's way too scary these days.
"things don't break on there own"
mkaeeyy, I'd like some of that hardware.
I have never seen unbreakable network hardware.
I have seen network hardware with redundancy to prevent loss of servies in case of a breakdown and I have seen the redundancy fail also. :)
Heh, yes I was thinking that too:)
Wasn't that one re-relased in a changed version? I remember reading it as a kid but I didn't really think about the pitchblack people with big red lips running around like monkeys. It first as a grown up, I was informed of it's 'issues'.:) And upon re-examination with the eyes of a grown up, it is hard to believe that it was something I could get from the kids section of our public library. I mean, it was not like some subtle placed messages or something.
I just replaced my IBM disk with a Seagate Barracuda and it was great to get rid of the noise. Now the PSU is the noisy bit, specially after after a while when the fan picks up speed to dump the heat. In the beginning, it's nice and silent but after about 10-15 min it gets worse, specially if the GF3 TI500 has been put to work.
Now if the Seagate keeps on working well in my PC, I'll be using them for my server too.
Me too.
I was thinking about getting one for a "server", and putting 2 silent HDs in it and install FreeBSD on it.
One could skip the floppy and install the second drive there or maybe the cd-rom and do a ftp-install. Then the HD's would both have a IDE channel for themself.
Or a third option, install a Promise controller and mirror the harddrives.
It it could keep the fan noise down even with 2 HD's in it, it would be great for a machine running 24x7x365.
If I look at I have in my own pc, it seems that all my cards could be replaced with the onboard chipsets, except for adding a proper graphics card.
But how good is the sound chip Realtek ALC 650. How does it compare to fx a Soundblaster Live. I don't need a lot of fancy features, the digital output is fine since I can connect it to my external sub. and speakers.
Is it lacking any features that could degrade the performance in games like "Hardware Sound Acceleration". I have seen a few reviews of the shuttle PCs, but none of them really mentions if the Realtek chip is a good replacement.
Maybe it doesn't matter.:)

Daemons and Texans don't mix
What a shame they didn't release the song they got on tape before now. But I guess they needed to wait for the MP3 format.:)

Also, if you are selling your house, you can no longer use the term Windows, you now have to call them "looking holes" or "those things made of glass"

True, I have a P2 300mhz at the moment and it works fine. I would go for one of the lower models.
