    Craigslist is actually a really big part of the decline of local papers. Classifieds were a pretty big chunk of revenue. I think people forgot all about that.

    Probably his wife's friends and their husbands. That's luck of the draw.

    Join a club for your interests. Then invite someone with a spouse to dinner. Maybe it works out past the club and the spouses get along, maybe not. Better than just being polite and accepting what comes your way.

    Works both ways. Non-combatants who pick up weapons and start shooting should be re-labeled. Victims of abuse, negligence or criminal violence should not.

    How do you tell post-humously? A chip isn't going to help in most cases.

    Worse yet. The groups who will be shooting won't have chips or will be listed as citizens but will still have guns shooting at you. So this would only prevent friendly fire accidents and could create major problems for determining enemy combatant status (as if it's not hard enough already).

    Uh that's just the ID and profile. You're not including the tracked info for events, behavior and relationships. Look at a Facebook personal page. The profile is just 1% of the data in the timeline and that's just what a person volunteers.

    Maybe it's the genre. You may not enjoy a show about politics and conquest set in a fictional world. If you do like this genre then I'm curious as to what other example meets your high standards.

    Is it bad to collect page views, time on site, page depth (how many pages viewed), load time, etc?

    Cookies are used to "track" you on every website that uses any typical analytics package.

    Where do we draw the line between looking at whether a site is functioning as intended vs. invasion of privacy?

    If I want to see load times for repeat visitors (to look at the impact of cache settings) visitors have to be assigned a UID that persists for days/weeks at least. No, test sessions are not useful. I need aggregate data from different regions, different browsers, etc.

    If my privacy policy says I won't share this data, is that enough? My goals are to create and maintain websites that serve my customers as effectively as possible. There are just too many variables to do QA against all browsers, network speeds, devices,

    Remote one handed manipulation of data on a computer with immediate feedback?

    I expect this to become a default interface for lots of tech.

    Think of it like magic. Imagine having an invisible remote control for anything. One you can't lose. Up, down, left, right and select. That's all you really need with a good UI for feedback.

    Think microwave, oven, tv, dishwasher, air, climate control, media center. Think vending machines, fast food menus, ATM, hotel check-in.

    It's a touch screen without the need to touch (or leave greasy marks).

    And yet America's financial meltdown was resolved pretty quickly (not fixed but not getting worse) whereas Europe is going down and there's no resolution in sight because there is this same entitlement mentality.

    When there are 20 people and each has to be given a piece of a typical pie, there is very little room for adjustment.

    Sounds like you have too many sales people and sales are slow. Would it be better if they just let 2-3 of you go? Then there would be some room to compete. If not then yeah it's a lot more effective to get multiple people to fail when the pie is fixed in size and you have to cut it up 20 ways.

    I'd be curious to know how much funding for movies is paid for with loans against future profits. Even broader, how much of anything in the movie industry (marketing, bonuses, benefits, salaries, etc) is paid for with paper backed by asset financing (future profits on the portfolio of movies).

    Same for music, books, etc.

    Demonstrated knowledge counts for a lot in my hiring methodology. A degree makes talking to HR about salary requirements easier but not insurmountable. I currently manage a team of ten and have hired ~30 in my career.

    How often do you plan on replacing your screen? It's actually the only part of a PC you can amortize over >4 years. Get a good warranty, say 5 years or so and spend the money. You'll get to enjoy it for a long time.
