Why do you doubt that? I'm using Outlook 2001 in Classic right now. In a corporate enviroment, and so is everyone around me in this very room. We are looking forward to an Exchange-enabled Entourage though.
It was in my pants, still on, when my girlfriend put it in the washing machine. It went through a full program, I found it, dried it overnight, and turned it on. Worked flawlessly (well until the screen broke down three months later...stupid Nokia), and it never smelt better.
True story. Wonder if my T68i would have survived the same process?
It beats playing Windows-based games like Reboot-after-simple-install which I also find myself playing pretty often.
Or the mac game... uhm... (photoshop)
"No one will use it but Linux folks."
You may be technically correct. But both windows users and the single Mac OS X having a couple of oggs in their collection downloaded them by accident.
Joke, not flame.
This is probably the first or second iteration of tabs in Safari altogether. It's surprising that they work so well already. There definitly will be this functionality, as hinted by ThinkSecret.
Now let me just put you back in a tabbed window here in v62 of Safari.
The comment was in case Apple should care that he was using the leaked beta, which they don't. Well, not much anyways. The "uh" was to hint at that he wasn't really telling the truth.
No Deus Ex for mac? What have you been smoking? I've played through Deus Ex on my lowly G4 400 one time already and my colleague on his TiBook as well. I plan to do so again with my new Radeon 8500 sometime soon. Deus Ex 2 is nowhere near release, so how do you know it's not coming out for your mac?
Have you heard the fan on these things? Imagine a jetplane taking of 100m from your ear. We had to dedicate a server room just for our one Xserve. But hey, it's an excellent server. If you want to use it as a workstation, make sure you get yourself looong cables:)
I have no idea? Did they leech from me? This collection is from 1995-2000 and collected from newsgroups, personal friends and the ascii art mailing list. I've also dabbled a bit myself, so if they have THAT stuff, perhaps they really did got it from me or a 3rd party leecher;)
I'm going to get the new 17" PowerBook to replace my three year+ old PowerMac 400 with a 21" StudioDisplay (beautiful monitor). Why am I doing this? Is it because I can't run the latest games, photoshop or final cut pro at acceptable speeds?
Not at all. I do video editing and photshop just fine. With a Radeon 8500 (Flashed PC edition - dirt cheap) I play the latest games with no lag. Oh, and even the genie is super smooth thanks to QE. In fact this three year old computer chugs along just fine, gaining uptimes up to 50 days before having to install updates, never giving me any problems at all. It's stable as a rock and fast enough that even high end video editing flies like a charm.
Heck, I just want a new computer. I want that sexy automaticly lit up keyboard. I want to sit and surf in my garden with Airport Extreme. I want a big screen that I can also snap shut and carry it with me. The faster computer is just a bonus. Yay, I can now do real time transitions in FCP instead of waiting for a five second render.
Case in point, Apple makes brilliant computers. I could have used this one for at least a couple of years more. My previous computer was a 6100 for cripes sake (now that's slow!). I just want to change it the way one want to change clothes once in a while.
For those of you who cannot be bothered to read his blog:
Wow, ok. First I'd like to thank the 75 of you that took the time to write me an email about my last blog entry on Chimera. One of the emails went like this:
OK, Chimera will never be an app used by the masses, and possibly not even by the masses of Mac users. Still, choice is good, and choices of several apps that suck less is even better.
You know, he's exactly right. It's all about motivations. Why did we even start Chimera in the first place? Because we wanted to make something that sucked less. Safari aside, it stands on its own as a solid product with a good UI that is pretty damn bug-free for an 0.6 release. It's easy to get sidetracked on the "woe is me, we lost again" tangent (especially if you've been at Netscape for 5+ years), but it's time to get back to why we're doing this at all: because we enjoy it. It's fun making a product that more than seven people use. I wish that was 7 million, but I guess we have to set our expectations appropriately. Chimera's not going anywhere, regardless of whatever I post on this blog. Will this get picked up on MacSlash? Unlikely. I guess the damage has already been done.
I'd like to correct many of the emails that commented that I was the only developer working on Chimera. I'm not by any stretch of the imagination. While our unofficial "team" is smaller than Safari's, we certainly have a lot of coverage from the open-source community.
Certainly I recognize the irony that my musings about my fifteen minutes running out generated more email than my weekly amount of spam. Next time I get depressed, remind me to just talk to my cats.

It does say "Power Macs", not PowerBooks. Towers they be.

Well, more impressive than the looks of that bus-decoration anyways...
Sharing a phone-connection between 21 macs getting decent speeds? For more than just emails?
Imagine what a beowulf cluster of those could have done for the speed. No, half-serious!
(Gotta stop posting on slashdot on an empty stomach)
It's shorter.
(No seriously, mac gaming rocks :)
My favorite :D

My experiences have been good. Watch out for quantum fluxuations though.
Is Celestia mindblowing or just great (and availible on other platforms)?
Before the Titanium-books, Apple used to test the strength of their designs by running over the powerbooks with a truck.
When demonstrating AirPort for the first time, Phil Schiller jumped with a powerbook from the 2nd floor. The reception didn't flinch.
Wow, you ought to really go tell Apple that!
Of course, 802.11g is backwards compatible so why wait for future benefits today?
Credit where credit's due. This is Mac-columnist David Pouge's work. This and other songs can be enjoyed at his homepage

iPhoto speed tip: Turn off borders in the appearance preferences. Without shadows, lots of people are noticing a huge boost.
*smacks head*
