Then it wouldn't be GNU/Linux. Usually if someone says GNU/Linux, they mean Linux with the GNU components. Most of the time, it's just an assumption, yes, but there are cases when they could mean to refer to GNU/Linux but not, for example, "BSD/Linux".
It means that the # of the beast is 666 in base 8, not 666 in base 10. For your information, the number of the beast is part of Revelations, the last book in the Bible.
There is not a chance M$ will sign it, even if they didn't have a problem with Linux. Assuming the signature just checks the kernel or bootloader or even the init application, this would allow anyone to simply write their games to run under bootloader/Linux/init and bypass having to pay M$ to sign their game. If the signature was required for the entire CD/DVD, then the XBox Linux would be obsolete so fast it wouldn't be worth them asking M$ to sign it.
Yes I would agree that JVM is a platform not because it is the main dependency, but because JVM is, in effect, a CPU. Only it's an emulated CPU most of the time like BOCHS would provide.
Libraries can always be ported to another OS. CPUs would have to be emulated.
I happen to have anonymous access via SFTP. I also allow anonymous SSH too. It pretty much consists of making an 'anonymous' user w/o a password... BTW, if there is a way to find my IP address from/., please don't try it. I don't have the bw to take a/.ing...
Just to clarify things, I was referring to free as in freedom (such as BSD or GPL licensed) not as in price. And even if Apple was convinced free software was impossible to sell, I would at least hope they would make it open source so people can see the source, possibly modify it, and not redistribute either the source or the binaries.
Key parts of OS X are still proprietary. Until they are free (or at least open), I still consider Apple an enemy. However, since we have a common stronger enemy, Microsoft, I'm willing to work together for now.
Um... MOO stands for MUD Object Oriented. MOO 2/II is the nicknames of both CoolMUD and HybridSphere. Never heard of this Master of Orion thing... I run a MOO for kids or teens, though anyone is welcome these days... You can check it out at http://kids.moo.mud.org/
SuSE has some cool stuffed animal lizards they give away after demonstations... Not sure, but I think I saw some monkeys and I suspect Ximian was giving them away... RedHat had red hats, of course...
It's annoying enough that my ISP blocked INCOMING port 25 (so I can't receive mail locally) but now they want to block outgoing port 25 so I can't send it directly either? Sure, spam is a problem, but the only good way to deal with it is to replace the email system completely. I believe someone proposed an email-like extention for the Jabber protocol at one point with some nice NNTP-like characteristics...
He said 4.21, not 2.4.21
Already done most of that... can't seem to find that acqua-l3m though :/

Well, it says pretty clearly the identity of the Antichrist when converted to another base...

I believe Windoze is licensed per-display. Which is why you need to pay extra for each Terminal Services connection.
Never heard the word 'uber'. What's it mean?

I would be highly interested in doing this... Where can I buy a laptop case and parts though???

Platform isn't the same as operating system. Platforms are things such as i386-i686, PPC, Alpha, etc.

1. I believe you can add GPL on top of BSD license.
2. Apple used the BSD operating system , not the BSD license (or did they use both?).

At least it's not red.

Except that M$ didn't make NT. They bought it from someone else. Since then, the NT/2k/XP have lost stability if anything...
