no one is going to be stupid enough to blow a ton of cash on overpriced Apple x86 hardware.
One would blow a ton of cash on a so called overpriced hardware if they make a ton of money fixing cheaply made x86 boxes that come with a security hole ridden OS.
its been a while since i've used linux and open office. how easy is it to install the two nowadays? i hated having to search details about my hardware before i could even install linux, plus the configure, make, make-install BS of the apps completely turned me off linux. I tinkered with it a bit until it got annoying. Do you just load an ISO and click on a few things to install the OS and Open Office, or do you still have to go through that mumbo jumbo stuff today? i think that will be the deciding factor whether joe six pack will embrace linux.
totally different device, marketed for totally different people.
can you control the treo with one hand to navigate through menus or do you still need your second hand for the stylus? a treo is overkill for someone just wanting to listen to music and watch videos.
remapping works sometimes, but not in this case. you'll end up pressing 1 button multiple times just to get the same function as a single button would do.
e.g. change channel to chan 13: menu, then up & down key to select channel changing, then scroll until you get the right channel.
on a 40 button remote, press 13 then enter (optional).
doesn't the second solution sound much simpler?
whatever happened to doing research for the sake of research and gaining knowledge. scientists used to share info just so others could use that same info to base future studies on. does it really matter who discovered it first?
Apple put a friggin sticker on the iPod to say "don't steal music". Do you think they will go out of their way to make sure that their OS can't be hacked or run in some non-Apple hardware?

ripping off the residents of modern countries and donating it to the poor countries.
If DVD is dead, whatever the porn industry supports next will be it.
any guesses on when we will see the headline Microsoft Releases 'highly critical' patch on here?
one of the excuses for releasing something in beta is "it's under testing, we are not responsible for lost data, etc. etc".

No Elvis, no Beatles, no Clash
you forgot Less songs than others. Lame.
that's cool. If only they could pack a 60+gig hd in there and make it compatible with itunes/isync it's worth considering.

1) people will steal anything, no matter how shitty it is.
2) you can still make a shitload of money putting out shitty stuff.
I have intel and amd computers and amd has a dramatically better cost/performance ratio.
yes, but apple was looking for performance/watt ratio. Apple wants to sell more portables and SFF PCs.

what's the latest? we've been using 6.5 and it's awful, IMHO.
they would buy it from some company and rebadge it.
i find the groupwise client very unintuitive. it's the most confusing email/calendar/etc. client i've ever used.
at least you always have clippy to the rescue! :p
yeah, and give new meaning to the phrase blue screen of death?
there has to be at least 1 Mac in that whole place.
it sounds like you folks are in a pissing contest on who comes up with the funniest post.
