"...from major Telco companies like NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic, Kyocera, Samsung and Sony Ericsson."
what about smaller telco companies, like midwest wireless?
humans are too concerned with whether they can or not, they too often neglect whether they should or not....
this is true, but i still don't think that saving lives is a bad thing
it's sad.... all the resrictions imposed upon advancements of science are a result of conseratives fearful of playing god, the uneducated massess control the politicians with their ideas, or lack of rather. a preist says it's wrong, they say it's wrong, politicians say it's wrong, so it is wrong, right? wrong! i'm for any medical advancement that saves the lives of people, but i guess my $0.02 is worth the same as the twits i disagree with...
hey, on that note, UHF just came out on dvd, the funny thing is, all the deleted scenes were taken off of VHS tapes....they found them in "weird" al's closet, where they had been, for the last thirteen years!!!!
watching it with commentary is funnier than the actual movie!
some people shop for their tech widgets soley at circut city. if they don't have any alternative than dvd, they'll buy dvd, even if it costs *more* it's a horribly unethical tactic, and as of now it's only a speculation, but i hope it isn't so!
first if they're criminals, i doubt they're monopolists, second, it said convicted, so if they have a monopoly, move to step two, where they need to convicted. Microsoft has been through both steps you ninny!
i put the copy protected cd in a regular cd player, i have my headphone jack outputing into my computers microphone jack, save as *.wav or whatever, then encode into Mp3.....it works very well
but that's besides the point....it's obvious that a person who buys the cd isn't a pirate, they're just burning bridges with the people left who are willing to buy cds, and that's no small number, piracy does cost them a fair amount of money, but a bunch of pissed off customers will cost them even more!
In all seriousness, what you save in open source software you usually lose in support costs. This scenario for example, you employ a network administrator. This administrator needs to solve a problem. The time spent troubleshooting the problem on a closed source isn't that much. There are plenty of MCSE's qualified enough (and even more that aren't) to handle most of the issues that come up. Now when you start using open source software, you just don't have the same level of training, so your support now relys soley on what s/he taught himself or herself (not to mention the size of his or her *nix beard, well, well, if it's a her I hope she doesn't have a beard...)
mod me down if you must, this needs to be said
you've noticed it to eh?
the "i don't care if you mod me down" posts usually end up at +5....for taking a stand... that's bunk...i wish i could mod you down to -1 offtopic, because face it, it's offtopic
there are a lot less collisions now, mainly at 8 am and 11:30, first logon and net surfing over break! i'll work on some other stuff, but overall, it's been great! adios!
where i work we have a bunch of wireless network equipment (not too secure either, but managmenet doesn't want to buy the equipment.) anyways, there are plenty of other access points, and only so many wireless channels, we use up around half of the channels to avoid interference from one access point to the other, however the neighboring buisness use plenty of channels themseleves, i've noticed we have a lot of interference on channels 6 and 11, i've also noticed that i can see over 20 access points on each on from (as far as i guess) 5 other establishments......
for the majority of the consumers they won't know the difference between windows and lindows, and in all fairness the sales person at wal-mart probably won't either.....
I agree, there's a lot of dedication to the job going on. That's rare in the work place anymore, well, atleast here in America. Kudos to these gents. I would like to mention that I'd stay at work alone, if I worked for a backbone provider, simply put, what do they have for bandwidth?
it's been mentioned before, and i haven't the desire to go and look. furthermore (it's already been said) but do "we" like disney this week?

"When are these guys going to get a clue?" i meant to add "right after i delete my 30 gigs of mp3s" i guess i should use the preview button, eh?
"When are these guys going to get a clue?"
even though they read as 701 meg's they'll still fit on a cd, most cd burners will write up to 715 or 720 megs with overburn enabled!
