    According to the article, the frequencies are used only certain moths. It also talks about using the frequency to carry terabit wireless networks...

    Does this mean that that I could use the wireless network to create swarm of attack moths that can see through reams of paper.

    I can finally overtake the pointy haired boss and rule the office!

    The world created an underclass of police and law makers whose views (rightly or wrongly in your opinion) are suppressed by the will of the majority. Over time, they grow disatisfied with the system, and revolt the only way available to them... hazerdous driving habits. I'm sure almost everyone has been the victim of unfair police treatment(I know I have), and if you're the victim for too long, you fight back.

    If this is the same reason that when I search, I get a list of 7 pages, and then after getting to page 5, there are only 6 pages. I would think that they would have a cookie set saying which server they are gathering their data for each search though...

    It is kind of aggrevating to be expecting 7 pages, and get only 6, I always think that the mystical disappearing page contains my wanted result though. :(

    My father-in-law works for a large plastics company, maybe this means his stock will go up - Maybe he'll pass some along for my wife and I.

    I hope that doesn't sound too greedy, does it?

    I can dream, its not like my own stock options in my own company are going up...

    How about at banks/credit unions?

    Would you like a loan officer that has bad credit history advising you?

    Or how about your accountant? I'm sure you would love a financially irresponsible accountant.

    Or an investor?

    There are a lot of jobs that I would feel safer knowing that the position is filled by someone who can manage their own money, before they manage mine.

    To let you know, I wasn't just out of college, and I did a credit check beforehand to double check.

    I either had the choice of accepting the credit check, and staying in the same area, or denying it, losing the job offer, and being forced to move because of a lack of other job offers in the area.

    I am quite aware of how the credit rating system works. I learned when I had to fight to get my wife's credit cleaned up because when she was a teenager, a hospital gave her bad credit because her father's insurance was late getting the bills paid. I ended up having to take her name off of our mortgage application because of this.

    I just meant personally I didn't have a problem with the credit check, as my company had reason to (credit cards and personal spending accounts) At the end, I said that the choice was up to him if he wanted to accept it or deny it. - Notice it was "My Opinion"

    Unless you're hiding something, I wouldn't object. I had to submit to a full background check, and it didn't bother me.

    I consider it a small price to pay to obtain unemployment. After all, if you won't take the job, and the check, there are thousands of other people who would jump at the chance. Its your choice though...

    I can't wait till they can use methane gas from bathrooms to power computers. It will kill two birds with one stone -

    1 - cheap power from reusable sources (humans digestive systems)

    2 - intake fans in bathroom will help with gas odors left in bathroom

    I don't know - there was a screenshot of Microsoft Bob running under linux.

    Who would want to even do that is beyond me, it made me sick to just look at it. Its like putting janet reno in a miss usa contest, for lack of a better description.

    Unfortunately my state doesn't have a do not call list yet (in the works)

    Telemarketers are sneaky though... Wife answers phone, and says its for me, and I pick up, and some guy trying to sell me satelite tv. I said no, tried to be polite, he persists, finally I got the point across, and hang up.
    Phone rings within 10 seconds, once again, my wife answers, and she starts talking, saying no, she wasn't interested. Turns out after the telemarketer got a no from me, he dialed back, and asked for the misses, thinking she would be an easier sell.
    Fortunately for him, he didn't try anything else.

    One day she got a message from a telemarketer cussing her out for the message, saying that they were only trying to make a living. Guess she struck a nerve with that telemarketer....

    True story - about two months ago, a local man tried to hook up his icemaker to the water line. Small problem being that he hooked into his gas line. After getting no ice, he called the local appliance repair shop. He called back about 30 minutes later saying he figured out his problem when the fridge door went through his plate glass window, and across the street.

    The UK, the US, and several other countries were all working on radar at the same time. British scientists had made semi-working radar systems, but what Loomis did was take their projects, refine their ideas, and actually make it work. Without Loomis, radar probably would have taken at least another 5 years to develop into a working state.

    After finishing work on the radar project, Loomis actually turned his efforts into supervising the mass production of radar systems.

    base: meaning typical install, sorry for the confusion there

    As for the disks, the system comes with redhat with a typical install. However, when you buy, you get to choose what install disks you want; redhat pro, redhat personal (subtract $40), debian(subtract $70), suse (same), mandrake pro(same)

    You get the disks you want, wipe out the preinstalled distro if you want, and start from scratch. This gives the user a choice, if they really care, they'll install it anyway, plus the distro you want gets part of the profit.

    They need to offer a choice of distro disks when you customize. To make this work, they would have to have a distro already installed, just a base one, perhaps stick redhat on there, with a typical install, just to make their lawyers happy. Then let the buyer do what they want. Selling PC's without an OS installed would be a good way to make them lose their priveleged status with microsoft.

    Probably not the best solution, but it was the best I could think of right now.
