RS-232? USB? How long until USB is obsolete?
It would take automakers 3-5 years minimum to switch to USB, and then another 5-10 years after that if they needed to change again. Will USB be around in 15 years?
Yes, it's true. I like the Microsoft® Windows® XP® operating system enough to change my whole computing world around. Here's the bottom line: Windows® XP® gives me more choices and flexibility, and better compatibility with the rest of the technology world.
Windows® XP® relieved my fears about switching. I can read my files, import e-mail addresses from my Palm®* to the Microsoft® Outlook® messaging and collaboration client, and keep my Web favorites. All the Mac® hardware--including my printer, broadband cable, Zip® drive, and Palm® handheld--works perfectly with my Windows®-based PC®.
To my surprise, the process of switching was as easy as the marketing hype had promised. I was up and running in less than one day, Girl Scout's® honor.
I worked on this car. The PC are used to manage the displays and sound system. They were only used so that the system can be modified easily. In a real car, all of the PC's would be replaced with embedded circuits.

And I don't see why they couldn't disclose which line numbers we might want to glance at.
your location? What if you go though a proxy? Will it be a felony if the proxy reports it's location to 911, and not your actual location?
