So instead they should broadcast directly to each individual subscriber. That means that they would probably would need a huge network of satellites that would be capable of transmitting potentialy every house all over the world. I mean that's not fair, they should be able to broadcast an encrypted signal that people must pay to have unencrypted. There is obviously a need for satellite TV and there is really only one way of going about it. Unless you lay cable all over the place and had people pay access to that cable. Oh yea, that's called Cable TV.

Forgive me if this was meant as funny. Did McDonalds really serve such hot coffee? Did buy custom coffee makers that serve coffee extra hot? My Mr Coffee maker at home serves it pretty damn hot, but I don't think it could melt a plastic lid, but if I spilled it on myself I would assume it would cause some bodily damage. Now McD's is probably using Bunn coffee makers, higher end industrial grade, I don't think they serve their coffee EXTRA hot. Although, there could be a setting on the Coffee maker (luke warm, hot, capable of spontaneous explosion).

I think what this does in my mind is give Opera some personality. You know there are real people there. With this light on things people may be more inclined to actually buy Opera. They will know their money is going to a group of real people, not some dirty money grubbing corporation. It's just a thought on things, I like Opera maybe I'm partial, or that I'm just a little hungover.

Would be nice if they released a free Win32 or *nix compatible version of Safari. I enjoy trying different browsers, but Opera has flat out won me over especially on the Win32 end. Konq is great on FreeBSD, but I spend most of my time (gaming & browsing) on Win2k.

But damn it SNES9x is getting compile errors and zsnes doesn't support USB gamepads. I haven't had much of a chance to explore these problems yet though.

That way even if you found something you want, but you want to keep on searching it's still there. Then if you decided that it isn't what you were looking for you can close it and continue searching.

I've never been a big fan af any RTS. I always found them too time consuming, that what I love about FPS's I can get some quick action after a long day of work but not have to sit at the computer for hours and hours trying to finish a game. Sure you can save it, but when you come back to it your train of thought at the time is lost. But one game that I could not get away from and played till I beat it, skipping classes or running out the door at the last second, is Homeworld 1/2. Never did understand why that game was not a big hit. It is the best single player game I have ever played. I would love to see a Homeworld 3.

My computer speaker setup consists of $40 GE (yes, General Electric) 4.1, flat panel. It's a nice little setup. Sure I can't blow my eardrums out but it's plenty loud enough. In regards to X. If you run /stand/sysinstall, Configure, XFree86, option 2 xf86cfg -textmode. Instead of the graphical installation, option 1. I found that the easiest. The only thing is my monitor doesn't have autodetect capabilities, it's from an old 486 IBM PS/2 comp. I had to enter the vertical and horizontal refresh rate. Had to look them up searching on google. I don't understand why this can't be like windows... Choose your resolution, if the monitor can't support then the screen looks all funny or the monitor stays black. Wait 15 secons and goes back to the original settings. Do the same for the refresh rate. Under X it can be a pain by having to look up my monitors refresh rates.

I hope configuring X the above way helps you if you haven't tried it.

Now as for isntalling Linux, Mandrake 8 was the easiest expierience I have ever had. Although I did have to compile drivers for my Aureal2 based sound card, just as simple as installing a port in FreeBSD. Software management was the difficult part.

That's where I think a FreeBSD ports system comes in handy. Or like Debian's package system. I was using Mandrake 8 awhile back. Whenever I wanted to install something in 'drake especially rpms that I downloaded, I found myself then downloading a dependcey for that rpm, then that depencey depended on another rpm... etc. With FreeBSD everything is like magic, I always find every piece of software I need in the ports and after a "make install clean" everything works. If the could combine this system with a pretty GUI including a GUI installer. The average user will feel much more comfortable. That's the biggest problem with the *nixes. There are some many libraries and programs that are all dependent it's really a nightmare.

For food, when I eat out for cheap, I stick to the $.99 menu. Order 2 $.99 items and a water. I'm full enough spending $2.14 including tax. I also shop as much as possible at The Dollar Genral Store and Big Lots. Most people tell me I will want kids later in life. I am so set on not having them I don't think it'll change. I know I'm doing the world a favor, I'm not a genius or anything so my genes aren't that important. Actually there is schizophrenia and the "shakes" on my dad's side.
