Not 100% true. Religions are what it's follows make it. Islam and Christianity use to be violent many many moons ago but so were non-religious people. Humans have evolved beyond that. Today Islam and Christianity are generally peaceful however each group has it's fare share of crazies that still want to live in the 9th century and will do whatever it takes to get that even if it means killing anyone that doesn't agree.
Also I am not a religious person yet I do believe in the a few of the christian ten commandments. They aren't all bad motto's to live by.
Still it's a stupid idea. Right now I could have Photoshop maximized and load up another app without having to minimize PS. I can just click the pinned app on the task bar or go right to the start menu. MS is just taking a good working technology, stripping it out and putting in something else. I don't care if they do this as long as they leave a way to revert back to the original style for those that want it.
The Start page is just a full screen start menu with active tiles, nothing more.
So in other words, I could just plaster my current desktop with icons and get the same interface? SWEET!
Sarcasm aside, I don't have a SINGLE icon on my desktop other then the trash bin. Just how I like it. If Microsoft did anything good to their UI in the past few years, it was making it so you can pin apps to the start menu and/or task bar. I love that.
What MS is trying to do is, they get all the "average" users out there use to the new Win8 interface which so happens to mirror their new mobile OS interface. Once people know an interface they will stick with it as long as they can. So in return they are hoping people will buy their mobile OS based phones. Looking at it from my parents point of view who HATE change on a computer and learning something new. They would buy a phone with a UI they are already familiar with over something else to learn such as Android or iOS.
I agree with most people here. I won't even consider using Win8 as long as it doesn't offer a way to use the standard desktop with a start button/task bar.
Yet the game could be a console game. Blizzard has also been tossing around the idea of releasing a console version. They are looking for a Game Systems Designer (Console) Diablo III. It's clearly no proof but still something they are considering.
The chance it was in fact your friends fault is still very high. Blizzard hasn't given a date span as to how long ago this occurred so you can't say your friend is a perfect little saint just yet.
No, not Trojan or key logged or phished or anything stupid like that.
Sorry but every time I see someone say that I laugh. It's like they think their computers are impervious or perfect and there is no way in hell they can be at fault. It's ALWAYS the other guy!
Back in the WoW BC days I was hacked. I thought I was pretty good with security. Come to find out I visited some website blog that was exploited with an iframe/XSS logger. That's how my password was logged. You don't have to have something installed on your computer to get keylogged.
I guess I worded that wrong. I should have said "man made global warming"
My point being, weather patterns like what we're going though now, have happened for hundreds of thousands of years. Up and down, warm and cold spells. Melting and freezing of ice glaciers. Hell there is even proof that Greenland's ice glaciers haven't even existed in the past and plants grew there. Also proof that the ice glaciers have had sudden melts in the past (before man) just like the recent melt that was just recorded.
Doesn't matter if the heating will occur over the next 10 years, 50 years or 500 years. Someone will cry and others will try to profit off it. It's similar to how every single year the news media hypes the current year as being the "WORSE EVER FOR HURRICANES" ever since Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. Only one hurricane hit the USA since and it wasn't even a major one.
I myself will continue to enjoy life while driving my SUV yet also recycle as much of my trash as I can.
Depends where you live. In my area people are all complaining because it's the hottest it's ever been, according to them. This is false unless they lived and can recall the summer of 1921 which was even hotter according to records.
The record was set back in 1921 in my area. Was global warming a problem back then also? o.O
On a side note, it's very very dry here like most if the US however my area isn't anywhere near being in the top 10 driest years on record. This according to the local weather man about two weeks ago.
Will BP and their friends ever be held responsible for the damage they've done to world peace in the name of profit for their shareholders?
I honestly don't understand what BP and friends w/shareholders have to do with: A) a government that openly states that they don't recognize a country (Israel) and wishes it was wiped off the map. B) a government that will publicly hang gay people.
For this to end, what's currently happening in Syria needs to also happen in Iran. Yes, sadly people will die but that's the cost to get out from under the hand of such governments.
Then I'm part of the few that has Facebook whitelisted in NoScript and JavaScript disabled by default when I hit the target sites. So It's more like "rare" and not so much "highly unlikely".
No really, Not another house for about a mile away. So does that mean if I signed-up they would be obligated to light my neighborhood up? I'm guessing not. They will most likely say, "Sorry we need at least 30% for your neighborhood."
Sure if you want the biggest and baddest machine currently out. You can easily build a Window/Linux machine for $900-$1500 tops that is pretty powerful.
I've tried HULU and for the most part their offering of recent TV shows is pretty bland. If Netflix focused on streaming TV shows the day after it aired then I would be more interested. Get steaming of other TV shows other then the 4 main networks (ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX). More from History Channel, Discovery, SciFi, FX, TNT and so on.
Honestly, the technology underpinning WoW is just too dated these days
Hey Blizzard, how about this: World of Starcraft. And make it awesome, using latest technology - not an groaning engine that's 10 years old.
Personally I think the WoW servers are on the leading edge of MMO tech. The new cross server phasing zones would be awesome for the lower pop servers and those people with friends spread out over several servers. To bad it's being added now and not 3-4 years ago.
As for the game engine, yes it's dated. That said I would still rather have the WoW graphics then a game with the latest and greatest graphics that require a $500 video card to play at max settings only to still get frame rate dropping in large fights with several people. The game graphics are at the bottom of importance. The game play and content are #1.
There are a lot of casual MMO people. Those people do not drive the game so we are ignored.
I disagree. When it comes to WoW at least. Casuals are the primary driving force of that game now and have been since half way though Wrath of the Lich King. Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly fine with that even when I considered myself a hardcore player up till about patch 4.2. Blizzard has been catering to the casual for a while now. That's where the money is seeing as most of their player base are casuals.
I've got two friends that have pretty much played every MMO out there at one time or another and they have been playing the Guild Wars 2 beta and so far they are not impressed. They said the game is a mash-up between WoW and Aion. Game combat feels very clunky. One even said that Star Wars: TOR was smoother combat and that's saying a lot if you ask me. One even went as far to say, and I quote, "GW2 is taking sort of the Aion approach where people will play and pay $$ to get the cutest outfit."
I was getting pretty excited about GW2 until I have been reading their thoughts on it and now my hopes are fading away.
This could make many dogs sick or just get them to stop drinking out of the toilet. =)
So lets spend millions to reinvent the wheel while we're at it!
Religion is violent.

You mean this? Colbert's take on AT&T

If you have an android phone get the Google Authenticator also. It's that added wall that makes you feel a little more at ease.

And from the people I know playing the beta, they are saying it's a huge letdown. I was excited but have since lost that excitement.

I find it to be one of those great ideas that just can't even happen. Mainly as others stated. "Single breach of security."
