I being from the USA and also working for an ISP would have to say its a mix of both. USA does have more PCs in homes then most other countries (also more data centers with servers). It also has a lot of Defective End Users (DEU's) that just don't know whats out there and how their computer can get infected.

I cleaned over 120 spyware and viruses off my sisters computer one time. I yelled at her and told her i wouldn't fix it till she at least got a irewall router to help block some or most of the incoming crap and also made her run a software firewall that won't allow outgoing connecting without clicking on "Allow" button on a popup.

I think people over the age of 40 that have less then 2 years internet usage should take some kind of internet class before using the internet.

BTW the file sending does work.. Its just slow as crap because GAIM somehow can't do a client-to-client direct connect and must send the files throuh the MSN servers. This causes all file transfers to run = 5k/sec. From what i read it will never support the direct connect. I don't get it and I'm no C programmer but I think its annoying. However the other features in GAIM out weight all other reasons for using MSN MEssenger.

Seems that people also forgot that Japan was taking over the entire pacific islands and who knows how much further they would have gone. the US pushed them back to their island and if we were going to get them to surrender it would have involved putting boots on the island of Japan which would have killed hundreds of thousands of US troops and possible leaving our pacific troup count so low that Japan would have retaken all the islands or drop one bomb. You choose buddy.

The use of the applet is nice, I uploaded 677 images into one album but after posting several images into all sorts of albums, it would just stop uploading. I had to close firefox and kill off all the running java_vm processes. Then I could open firefox and post more images.

My co-worker has similar problems with java as well. So I know its not just my computer. Anywho thats my 2 cents.

As for being responsibe. My sister got in an accent out on a country road one night and there was no one around. The OnStar was on her truck and they sent help. If it wasn't for that then she would have been walking for a very long time to get help.

This system is just a cell phone pluged into a computer that can send for help if needed.

Use it in court. Need Insurance? Let's call OnStar and see if you are a safe driver.

Several other car makers put a black box in their cars also. OnStar doesn't monitor your driving anyways.
