I use XP myself. I thought I'd hate it, but it's actually pretty slick. It SCARES me to think I just said that, but I've found it to be a pretty damn stable product.
I have to say I was expecting more. I mean it was more like a Seinfeld style ender really, basically just a recap. Whoopdie doo. I've watched the series since the beginning, most of this was just filler to me.
One thing skewed about that point about how XBox was outsold by Sony and Sega. Both of the latter were FIRMLY entrenched in the Japanese gaming market (and the Japanese minds as a whole) previous to the release of their newer consoles. Both companies had unbelievable market penetration there as well, something Microsoft NEVER had (and continues not to have) in Japan as well as the entire asian market due to what can only be described as an aversion to PCs. The opposite is true here, where almost everyone who owns a PC has a Microsoft product installed on it.
I just wanted to address the issue of software for the XBox. I don't own an XBox, I own a PS2. The reason for that is simply the PS2 has a better selection of software, and some great games that are exclusive to its platform. The XBox NEEDS to get some really good exclusive titles beyond the good launch ones like Halo.
As a PS2 owner, there's no incentive for me to buy an XBox to play a game that I can also get on the PS2. Even if the PS2's hardware isn't up to snuff with the XBox or the GC, I'm not about to shell out several hundred dollars for a new platform when I don't need to.
I totally agree with the sentiments of others, with paying subscription fees if the equipment cost is lowered. But it seems to me that gone are the days when equipment cost was cut drastically in order gain customers and revenue from service fees. A lot of cell providers are even turning away from the free phone deals of the past, or they give you a free phone so crummy you won't want to use it. Satellite providers still charge a lot of money for up-front equipment costs, trying to woo customers with programming credit to make it seem like less of a blow.
Maybe you should have read the article:
This new pricing model does not apply to SONICblue's current ReplayTV 4000 or to prior offerings, which will continue to include a lifetime service subscription.
So all those so-called clueless ReplayTV users who currently own older models are exempt.
It's so comforting to know that between EULA messes like this and viruses that our PCs are becoming battlegrounds for viruses AND legitimate developers.
I thought the eBook thing became commercially dead when a zillion sites started selling them and almost nobody was buying. Why are hardware manufacturers still trying to cram this down our throats when the good old paper versions are still the preferred medium?
Hey now, there's a possibility. TXF is the kind of show that if you don't actually SEE a character die there's a good possiblity they'll come back -- if only for a Return of the Jedi-esque apparition photo op at the end of the series.

Actually the GameCube's sitting better than the N64 was at the same point in its life cycle. What the GC needs is a decent Mario title.
Oh great, now I can be in the middle of a meeting with clients when my Tamagotchi will phone me and let me know it's hungry and wants food.

I wonder if they'll waste another episode on him being sad about it.
