When an account jumps 20k in one day and they find that a non-registered charity is accepting donations for disaster relief, they are doing due diligence. I would fully expect that Paypal will eithe re-open the account or forward the funds.

I was scammed on an ebay auction and they ultimately gave me my entire payment back pretty quickly when the seller couldn't prove he sent anything.

I still think they are scum and rarely use them. However I can't blame them for being cautious.

I've had C64/128, Apple II, an early power mac (woo white screen!) Amiga, a DOS PC, and every version of windows. Save 3.1, windows has always been easier to use, manipulate and find information on how to tweak.

Windows has always allowed the user access to more functionality. Mac has done a good job of keeping the user away from being able to get under the hood and really start tweaking.

I have yet to actually ever hear a sound and logical argument for the FBI wanting to spend all of it's time listening to what I have to say.

Liberals have said that they are simply afraid of the slippery slope that once we lose a liberty, we're just bound to lose more.

Interestingly the slipperly slope argument does not apply to most things that the liberals are pushing for. Any belief that seems to be rooted in personal morals is a belief worth dashing to the rocks (ie. anything religious based or simply the belief in free association)

The left's favorite argument against any policy the right stands for is that the right loves to use fear to justify it's actions. Back in the day when I used to be a liberal, it got very tiring being afraid all the time. I got very tired of the false logic the left used because the fear they were mostly talking about is the fear that their ideology might be wrong!

The left uses fear to make an attempt to show that they are the ones standing on moral ground. Folks like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton scaring african-americans into thinking that they are fools to ever believe that a conservative is anything but racist.

The company I work for learned their lesson with foreign outsourcing. They still hire consultants or contractors, but they are all local folks now.

It's funny because 10 bucks and hour looks sooo damn good on paper, management will usually take the risk of destroying the relationship with a client over the huge margins.

One thing you have to understand about Paypal. They are offering you the ability to accept credit cards without having to set up a merchant account and have good credit. Even if you formally set up a merchant account and a processor you'd still have to pay 1.5 - 2.0% unless you had a massive volume.

Many people will complain about their resolution methods and chargebacks. What most of them don't say is that they can be protected against this by ONLY ACCEPTING VERIFIED payments. If you are accepting a payment from a user in the former USSR who can not verify his account, it's at your OWN risk. This is perfectly legitimate and reasonable. Credit card processors do the same thing. Most wont even tak e a payment from a sketchy part of the world.

I was ripped off by an EBay seller who just wouldn't respond to emails about some damaged cases for two sets of poker chips. UPS had denied the claim due to poor packaging so I filed a paypal claim. The seller responded by filing a NON-PAYING Bidder claim! I quickly solved that by sending my payment confirmation email to Ebay. A week later paypal had reversed the charges completely since the seller couldn't prove his actions were in good faith.

Result. I got my money back and free product. Paypal worked for me.

I think EBAY is more out of line with their fees than Paypal.
