    my camaro gets 28 MPG on the interstate....imagine my suprise when I bought a WRX subbie, it gets 25 MPH on highway..my v8 327hp camaro gets better mileage than the 4 banger(on the highway)

    but the camaro only gets about 12 MPG in town -lol

    I don't record full motion as what I am doing is just for security purposes. I setup up a location with 4-8 Panasonic cameras. they come in different flavors. kx-hcm270 is a wireless outdoor model. It can pan and tilt and has pretty good range. I've gotten over a 1000' range using a wap11 with an ext omni. I set the cameras to upload a pic every 5 seconds. I set up scripts that embed a time stamp on the pic using image magicks convert command. I have a bunch of folders that I share out so people can go back up to 88 hours to look at the pics, at the end of 88 hours, I use ffmpeg to pack the days images into a mpeg file. works great, if someone is interested, I will put together a howto on it.

    this is for a link in south america. It will be around 26 miles. my brother lives 26 miles from a town that has broadband - dsl I believe. there is a very smooth and shallow valley seperating the 2 points. from his house you can see the tallest building in that town. he already has a radio telephone setup off the same building and has rooftop access

    you can imagine how much could save with a vonage/8x8 VoIP account

    I would have to agree. I got 4 linksys wap11's, 3 24 dbi's directionals for the clients. In fact the ap isnt even hooked in to the network. Because I was able to mount the ap where electricity was at ,but no cat5...

    2 real clients, 1 client feeding the ap the network..

    one client is 1/2 mile away , the other is 1.5 miles away.

    works great!
    fab-corp sells kits that have all teh cabling needed for linksys and other radios. and the cool thing is that if you want to spend the money later on, all of the cableing is compatible with Cisco gear!!

    why dont they send a rover/probe that could travel with the dust storms? have it deploy a parachute on a telescoping rod and let the wind take it where it will...it would have to be very durable to say the least. isn' that how baby spiders get around? I think they deploy a string of silk and let the wind carry them away....

    it seems they are trying to get outlook 2000 and up more integrated with msn messenger. same as the poster above siad, you can uninstall it, then when you open outlook it appears. doesn't that violate the terms they set out in the case about "uninstalling" msn messenger? anyone here know?
    and where is the reg entry or ini file located , so I can get rid of it when I set up a client pc? I don't wont to install antispy on every desktop I set up...
