An open source sign on would have to store passwords and usernames in a database. Where would this data be stored, who would maintain it and whos going to pay for the upkeep. Single Sign in is really just away to capture all the data a site needs in order to sort and display ads that might interest the user. Sometimes its really cool to have personalized web experiences but where do we draw the line. When passport came out I remember saying, "Ill never use that" But as larger sites incorporated it in I found it to be useful. I think that SUN will have the answer with their new N1 plans.

The idea of the chalk marks comes from "hobo signs", an old tradition among travellers and the homeless in America. They would scrawl a mark on a wall to show other hobos where they might find food or shelter. more... What if these symbols represented steganistic versions of network passwords... then that would be unauthorized access... if the door is open, well then friend, come on in!

I do not agree, I think that this is dirt in the eye of Microsofts long term goals. When Sun donates 220 Million copies of Star Office to the children, they are going to learn what they are given. Schools, (usually in a tight budget) may use the free tools. If this occurs, in 10 years, no one will no how to program the Microsoft OS that a mere 400 developers have access to (source). I dont know how to program a TRS-80. Its more like 20 year old though. I see Suns stock going up, due to sales increase, because people generally purchase what they know how to use. The price is fair, the development options are endless, and computing can get back to what it was supposed to be, before the huge Microsoft distraction. The bottom line is cost versus productivity versus reliability.

If your going to be running cable through walls and such, make sure you have a vaccuum to clean up the carpet. Also its nice to carry a small compartment container to seperate small pieces. You may need a pen and paper to write notes on, especially if you dont have the motherboards manuel available. Make sure the screwdrivers are not magnetized. By then it might be too late. Your actions will then be very important because at this time, you are now being compared with every guy shes met in the past 3 years.

She has been told about diamonds since she started talking to other femmes.

Its love, man. You have to do this deed. The reason diamonds are invaluable is because if the love fails over the ring. An example would be, if she said NO when you showed it to her. The ring could be cursed, or have a bad omen. Traditionally, no one is going to want to buy that. If the ring did have value, then it would be obnoxios. The rich men would keep upgrading their ladies rings, the young man would have 1 in his pocket, it would ruin the 'diamond; effect. kinda like an inflation.

It could also be that through your research on the web studing diamonds, that you have managed to find and save all the links to the negative aspects of getting married with all the energy focused on diamonds. This could be trouble. If you never came to slashdot, you might have actually ruined your chances of getting married.
