Microsoft is not blocking WebM (just not shipping with it). And they have always allowed whatever codec installs for WMP/IE in the past. Contrast this with Safari and Apple's stance on Theora.
As a grumpy old gamer myself, I recall that several if not the majority of the games that pride themselves on just their graphics were quite terrible to play.
I just think now the games industry is really struggling for new ideas in games, hence the endless sequels, and are therefore looking at any gimmick they can just to sell more of the same.
"But it doesn't let you put apps on a MicroSD card that you just bought. Even the new HTC 4G coming out has a paltry 384MBs to store apps in even if you do buy that $200 32GB MicroSD card."
It does if they update it to 2.2, just like the Nexus 1 has now and can put apps on the SD card. Even before this, some devs got smart and put their media on the SD card (the actual program isn't going to be very big).
Good news then! Android OS doesn't care what folder you put that movie/music/image file in! All it took was some proper coding. Did you know iPhone OS doesn't recognize ringtones unless they have an m4r extension and are in the right directory? Same with music/images/etc.
Depends on your app. Just because you found one on the android first doesn't mean the iPhone doesn't do it.
I don't think apps can add hardware to the iPhone. Also, re-read what I said, I found apps to do this on both. I just prefer it on one because of the available HARDWARE.
As others mentioned, they exist on iPhone and Android. In my experience, however, it runs better on Android for 2 reasons: higher resolution displays and a hardware input to mimic the mouse (in some cases the keyboard also).
And, the selection of phones and consumer freedom don't really exist on US GSM carriers, either.
I think it exists with T-Mobile. They sell locked phones, but will unlock them after 90 days. You are also welcome to bring your own phones. They don't charge for tether, either.
It wasn't Google directly, but malware web code would detect a Google crawler and serve up some malware. It would not serve the malware unless it detected the crawler. Google is generally pretty good about pointing stuff like this out, it just seems like a hard problem to solve.
If they went after the Bush administration for doing it, they would have to go after the Obama administration also. It's a slippery slope that leads to everyone getting attacked.
If you're searching images or videos you should use bing. It really is better. Also, did Google ever do anything about serving malware through their image search?
There are already apps that only run on the 3GS. It relates to the 3GS having OpenGL ES 2.0 vs the others only having 1.0 and 2.0 is not backwards compatible. If the rumored iPhone HD is true, expect more fragmentation. There is also now the iPad, with an even different screen resolution.
Windows 2000? That's so last decade. Win2K is so old that I remember people gasping that it required 80MB of RAM to just boot up.
Good news then! One of the cameras is infra-red and there's a light coming from it too.
I'm sorry, but Netscape squashed itself. At the time IE was far less bloated and buggy.

Up until then Apple would also call it unnecessary, a problematic approach, or other such nonsense.
Pretty much how I feel too.

Yeah! So just download an mp3 from the web with Safari on the iPhone and get back to me on that.
Storm8 was banned not too far back for just this sort of thing. Read here for more about it: http://apprejections.com/index.php/post/15
Too bad they still don't check the apps for that sort of thing. Some apps blatantly steal your info on the iPhone.

Windows Mobile 6.1 had copy/cut/paste, but I agree with the rest of what you're saying there. http://community.htc.com/na/htc-forums/windows-phone/f/23/t/564.aspx

Not all, there's no camera so camera apps don't run ;D
I thought they did that long ago with their "I'm a Mac" ads.

Skyfire would show more than just videos, it would show pretty much all kinds of flash content. From games to vector videos like Strongbad emails.
You can write an app for Android 1.5 and cover all devices if desired. The UI differences have no impact on outside apps.

4. Uninstall Firefox if you're using Vista/7 as it's actually more dangerous.
