Besides the buggy gameplay (which determined my emotions more than anything else) I hated the plugs for NVidia and Intel. The Powerade placement was slightly less noticeable but not by much.
They went waaay overboard there.
To date I haven't seen any good product placements (well, mebby Super Monkey Ball's Dole Bananas.)
(and yes, I did RTFA, the new installer looks very good and kinda-sorta makes me want to go back to Debian, cos APT beats the stuffing out of RPM)
If I choose to install X, even with the new autodetection, do I still have to manually edit the XF86Config file to suit my needs?
Does ALSA/OSS work immediately? Will USB stuff?
You must mean the Nintendo 64... or someone hacked the ROM up to work on a SNES.
And the proc in an N64 is a MIPS 6000 if I recall correctly, with 4MB of RDRAM, 8MB if you've installed the Expansion Pak (and that's necessary to play BroodWar and multiplayer)
Sam Walton died in Little Rock, AK, on 5 April 1992... his survivors, however, are still in charge of the chain.

You'll know when Gym classes have really gone too far when they have Tai-bo (ewww.)
I'll have you know I got an award for achievement in my PhysEd class due to Mr. Blanks! I just went NUTS over that video series, too!
Not to mention, the entire House of Windsor is/was a fabrication, made up by George IV (?) to cover up their Germanic/Saxon roots and to make them totally British.
"The Eminem Show" got ripped a new one on the NPR program "Fresh Air" today.
And a lot of what the reviewer said was right, say I.
!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "RANT"//EN" Eminem uses too much self-pity. He thinks everyone hates him. He's alos stupid-he called his duet of "Stan" with Elton John 'russian roulette for his career'. Not so, but he continues to rap shit like that any way. Too bad for him-his little ramblin's are somewhat entertaining, on a sophomoric level, but overall just stupid.
Yes, those clicky keyboards are the BEST. I love them to death. I will not give mine up. You know when you've pressed the key both by the sound and the tactile response and those things are so heavy and they won't be pushed around the table so easily. And the cables are detachable so you can switch then between machines easily.
And not having a 'windows key' makes me feel 31337;-) Teehee
I agree for the most part. I'd give up a LOT to lose this sucky Compaq keyboard.
OTOH, while using Windoze, after I learned the shortcuts that can be performed (like Windows+R for Run, Windows+M=Minimize All) I've grown quite fond of it. In fact, not having it now (I'd however, just prefer one, not two) makes a keyboard seem obtuse.
What's everyone's general opinion of the Windoze key?
About a year ago or so, I posted to the rec.games.mud.diku newsgroup about a Diku MUD based on the Matrix mythos with some game design proposals.
It was agreed that it could be done, but it would push Diku technology to its limits. I knew this could be a serious money maker for WB-a MMORPG about this, with someone being chosen as The One every 2 weeks or so, permanent death, etc.
Wonder if someone from WB was lurking there and saw my post?
Hey, my boys at the DoD need a little more-tactical maps of the area, civilian houses nearby. Things like that..
Oh, and an angle of elevation measurement wouln't hurt, either.

That "magic" ingredient is probably the chemical triclosan, now pretty much used in every anti-bacterial product. There are a few people in my family, particularly my sister, who've had long term bad reactions to that particular chemical. Me, I'm fine.
Dial bar soap is another matter entirely. I know it's antibiotic but that particular ingredient is a mystery to me.
Quoth the parentposter...
"* the kernel" -- Most Windows users don't know what that is. (sad, but true.)
"* the filesystem" -- Most Windows users don't know the difference between Fat16, Fat32, NTFS, and so on. What they see are icons.
"* the file manager" -- Virtually identical since Windows 95. Only a few minor updates have been made. The metaphor is still the same.
"* the browser" -- Again, still virtually the same. An IE 3.0 user wouldn't be that out of water if presented with 5.0. That's not so true with Netscape or Opera.
"* Office file formats (.DOC compatibility? Ha!)" -- The.DOC format has been the same since Office 97. Yes, 95 -- was a BITCH, but after that MS got their act together.
Point 1: I would have to agree on that one, definately.
Point 2: Also agreed, but some users I've met actually know the different kinds of file systems. Mostly the power users and propellerheads.
Point 3: In all my years of using the various flavors of Windows, (95,98,ME(eugh), XP, Win2K, NT, ) I've seen quite a few differences between the file managers, and some more annoying than others.
Point 4: Agreed also, but a lot of stuff on it has been changed and moved around. Plus it gets slower with each new version.
Point 5: The MS Office DOC spec, IMO, has not remained the same. Office XP can't save to Office 97 format natively. Office 97/2000 cannot open OfficeXP docs saved in O-XP DOC format. Instead, they have to be translated to a special flavor of RTF.
(Look it up sometime, I think you'll find it interesting.)

Seriously!
Anyone ever managed to get a triple-A or SS on "Drop Out" on the highest possible level without killing yourself in the process?
And the new Creative Labs sound cards have Friarwire ports.
Yeah, the only thing that can come out of those are little balding guys who are the pope's shock troops! And they always sing Gregorian chants!
FYI, AMD is phasing out the Duron. Information on this can be found here.

I mean, on teeshirts. D'oh.
I'd love to have some of the original old Dave Titus illustrations of Mozilla-I'd kill for those!
