No, you don't CHOOSE to have diabetes. You CHOOSE to have the Everquest addiction. You CHOSE to play it, and everytime you sit down at your computer and log on you CHOOSE to go online. If you don't like the game, and you don't want to play anymore, cancel your account, uninstall, get rid of the CDs. BAM done. You can't go on anymore. After about a week, you probably wont miss it anymore. If you hate it so much, DON'T do it.
That would be good, except for the fact that your program is only allowed to take about a second per-move. Damn rules and their ruley-ness!

Umm, Pitr's native language ISN'T Russian. He is a poser. Go back through the archives. He started out as just a normal English speaking Canadian. Then he got the Evil Geniuses for Dummies book and decided he wanted to be an evil genius and adopted a psuedo Russian accent.
The comic actually referenced that when Pitr went up in space in a Russian rocket and annoyed the real Russian with his fake accent.
Exactly, small file transfers are what they are, and should be used for.
I have a server, where I've shut off ftp, sftp, ssh, telnet and the others, so the only way to put a file on the machine is to be at the machine. So to change one file around, I write the file on my desktop, then walk it over to the machine.
Burning a cd for a small file with a three line change to a file seems pretty dumb.
You are right, this is old news. In fact, here is an excerpt from a Neil Gaim interview a couple of months ago where he talks about the hold up:
Dan Epstein: Good Omens will never happen right? Neil Gaiman: Oh, Good Omens may happen. The whole thing about movies is that you never say it might or might not happen until the first day of shooting, and then it's happening. And even then you've got your fingers crossed. There is a great script by him and Tony Grisoni. They got the budget down to $65 million and they raised about 50 million dollars from abroad. All the investors wanted was for an American entity to go in on the final $15 million and guarantee an American distribution deal. There is the problem?they can't find one. There's no American with the balls enough to agree to fund it and have a Terry Gilliam movie. They are scared of him but he's funny, wise and brilliant. Not only that, but he made Twelve Monkeys and The Fisher King which demonstrated that he could easily bring in a movie on time and under budget. Currently the last e-mail that I heard from Gilliam is that Tony Grisoni is doing a rewrite to try and get the budget down to $45 million.
Dan Epstein: I wish I had $15 million to give to Terry Gilliam to make the movie.
Neil Gaiman: You know what? So do I. That's the single most frustrating thing. You want to walk around Hollywood asking everyone where are their balls. So it's not dead until the option is not renewed and the option just came up and it was renewed again. I got the check. You never know what happens with a picture until you're sitting there eating popcorn at the premiere.
To answer something else, Gilliam is a writer, he wrote Brazil and his other movies (except 12 Monkeys, he co-wrote the script for Fear and Loathing). He was also a writer for Month Python. So, he does know how to adapt novels to film.
As I mentioned in my response to the parent, lots of stuff that you think wouldn't be released on DVD, IS being released on DVD. I'm building a large collection of abosultely crappy horror films. It's amazing what you'll find out on dvd. Go to Suncoast, Best Buy, even Virgin, and browse around, you'll find tons of gems that you would have thought would be lost for ages.
go to a place like Suncoast, or heck even Best Buy, and take a look through their DVD sections. You'd be amazed at what they are releasing out on DVD. I'm in the process of buying tons of bad 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's horror flicks. Like Corpse Grinders, 7 Doors of Death, Zombie, and other cools stuff.
Heathers and the Breakfast Club are already out on DVD, those are actually pretty popular cult films.
You'd actually be surprised what makes it onto DVD.
The big problem is the GBA screen is it's biggest drawback. It's not backlight, therefore it is very hard to see, in fact it can be almost impossible to play unless you has massive amounts of light. This is really a good hack to get a bigger LCD on it, thus allowing you to actually PLAY the handheld.
You probably should have went ahead and LOOKED at the article. The "playstation screen" is refering to the portable ps1 that sony is putting out. It's basically a ps1 with a small LCD attached. Retailed for around $150 USD. It's a pretty neat setup.
The articles talks about hooking a GBA up to that, and using that's TV outs to up hook to a TV. But the playstation screen, does indeed refer to the portable ps1 LCD.
True except the study only looked at the top 100 most mature projects. A presonal project put out on sourceforge that went nowhere doesn't make the cut as "most mature"
By age 12 they've already had sex ed courses in the government's public school
I think a child learning about the reproductive system and their bodies is a little different then seeing pregnant transexuals peeing on young asain boys' feet.
Check out the World Forge project. It's an open source attempt at creating a customizable MMORPG.
They need help too with a bunch of stuff, but what they have so far looks really neat. Good stuff.
For some reason the distributors must think fewer people would see the film if it was a '12'.
Too bad the distributors don't think that more people would see the movie if it were actually good.
They'll probably start as soon as Lucas gets around to suing all the Star Wars fan movies that are out there.

Sure there is, have you ever seen the credits of a sitcom, it reads like Schindler's List.

MySQL would be ALOT better if it supported stored procedures and those sorts of things.
*shrug, but what do I know.
So, when does NPR start suing Google, Alltheweb, and others for indexing, and even worse, CACHE-ING their site.
Damn Pirates!
Innocent Blood is out on DVD

Are there other games that would be suitable for a school sponsored event?
Yep, Grand Theft Auto 3.
