In a perfect world, they would be sentence to at least a year in solitary confinment, force to write essays on the U.S. Constitution and especially, the Bill of Right every day of that sentence, banned from every holding public office or even voted for the rest of their live!

    Because the modern megaplex has too many rooms for individual attention. Go to the first showing of a movie sometime, on a slow day. You will be surprise how often the projector is set wrong. Then you will be angered at how long it will take for them to notice this. It will only be AFTER one of the patrons complain. Recently, this happened and after they fixed the focus, I had to complain a second time because the registration was not fixed!

    They don't want people to have to do anything. They want machines.

    Thank you, OSDN and Slashdot for this small little rememberance. Thank you, for the heroes and tragic victims of the four flights and on the ground at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. And most of all, for the brave First Responders who gave up everything to save as many as they could. We will never forget. NEVER!

    I drove 160 miles to see Fantasia 2000 on IMAX. Was I EVER disappointed! It reeked and I am not just talking about the Micky Mouse part. After that I had no interest in seeing it on regular 35mm format, but I do recall it was released. It didn't last long.

Then sell them in a box of three of 160gig drives, two platters each, with a PCI controller that will automatic handle the RAID 0+1 configuration. That is 160 gig, with hardware redundency with a spare drive to have for WHEN (not if) one fails. The striping and extra heads will make the data FLY - and you don't need more spindle speed.

    With a dialup modem, you get a mono channel at 20Kps - i.e. it tops out at 10K. Better than AM, but as good as mono FM, even. Now, I have a SOLID 53K connection. Why, oh, why, can they not have a compression that can deliver SOLID 20-20Khz stereo? They just don't get it. So, now I uninstall.

His excuse is "We all suck". I take great offense that, we do NOT all suck and I guarantee that you will never, never, NEVER find me touching a button for this organization if I live to 10 billion years!

    I just woke up after working until 2:30 a.m. rebuilding some critical application servers. You know how my company celebrates System Admin Day? By laying my ass off! Wednesday is my last day. So be it. In these, final days, I will do the best job I can, document what I can to make it easier for the next guys and make DAMN sure that they miss me! To paraphase, Oscar Wilde, "Working well is the best revenge!" But, AARRRRRRRGGGGGGG! Well, it is marketing time.
