    Commercial lines have very few restrictions, so im almost 100% sure this would be allowed. With residential lines there are so many restrictions it's crazy.

    It's not going to happen ... stop worrying. Microsoft would have to take control of every motherboard, chip, and card manufacturer to do that. Can you say "monopoly?" Don't you think it'd be a little obvious?

    Most users haven't a clue what it is, that is the problem. It's analagous to someone presenting a question to you in giberish, then offering you to choose a or b. How would you expect average users to know anything about it?

    What you're saying is very reasonable, BUT gator relies on users not know what it does. So it is more like if you had a magazine delivered to your house, but at your doorsetep someone changed the ads without you knowing it, because you had agreed to it without ever knowing.

    It's too late to plug the analog hole. The technology is there, there are many manufacturers, and it isn't going away. They can't even protect digital media, how would they do it for an analog medium?
