    Nah, they're the "dolts".

    Another term people often confuse with "bots" is "bods" who tend to work in HR and Marketing. Unfortunately they also tend to have Middle-Management-like qualities.

    although the "serve at room temperature" thing is a bit of a myth for Irish/British beers, the best temp for pouring a Guinness is around 7-8 degrees. Sounds like I'm nit-picking, but there is a difference for us piss-heads^H^H^H connoisseurs.

    IANAP, but I'd guess that a super-flat surface is needed so they can have a precise measurement of the distance between the laser and the object being zapped. That way they can time the laser freq with the atomic vibrations. There's just too many mountainous bumps on a dime.

    As China is one of the biggest polluters and is not bound by the Kyoto environmental treaty, having them take this step on their own initiative to create cleaner cities is certainly a welcome sight.

    Looking at this in a slightly cynical light, Chinese factories may see this as a means to up their bargaining power in deals with environmental authorities. Something along the lines of "...why should we [ stop dirty smelting practises / pay increased pollution taxes / etc ] when our employees are living in an urban green zone?".
