Apart from the fact (an extremely debatable one at that) that mj has 4x the carcinogens of tobacco, can you tell me why no scientific study has found a conclusive link between smoking mj and lung cancer?
I'm not saying it won't cause cancer, but tobacco has been proven, without a shadow of a doubt, to cause cancer. If mj is truly 4x more carcinogenic, wouldn't a link be fairly easy to find?
BTW, the diesel engine was originally designed to run on hemp oil, and henry ford had big plans to use pressed hemp to create panelling for his cars.
Hemp isn't some miracle plant, but there are plenty of uses, and plenty of reasons why it isn't used, almost none of them based upon common sense.

They did, they were making pasta before marco polo was born.
Just an idea, if you're running a squid proxy, you probably have a box (and enough knowledge to install) where you can install this:
spampd: Spam Proxy Daemon
spampdacts as an SMTP relay server, and in the process of relaying a message it passes the mail through SA. If SA decides the mail could be spam, then spampd will ask SA to add some headers and a report to the message indicating it's spam and why. spampd is written in Perl and should theoretically run on any platform supported by Perl.
But Masamune Shirow can draw some really nicely curved women, and sweet organic tech, if the link ever gets un-/.'d I'd like to see what he came up with.
I just click "Google in English" on google.it, which is where I usually get redirected before they set a cookie on my machine. Afterwards, it's always google.com .

Believe it if you will.
I vote for Percy and Hawthorne
Pip pip cheerio!
So you're saying they're doing it to improve all around knowledge/usage of "unixy" OSes?
Makes sense, I'm just surprised it's sun who is doing it.
I realize that they do make use of linux, but haven't they got their own OS?
I could think of many more companies that have a more vested interest in seeing linux succeed.
Man, at least rip your stuff off from somewhere that most people haven't seen.
Loooosssssssaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
I haven't flown in a while, do they also offer power connections for your laptop?
Cuz a 12+ hour flight wouldn't be very much fun after your backup batteries die.
And remember, the foldable tray will stop your willie from overheating:)
Now that's a dedicated luddite.
You can even freeze them, they'll still germinate.
Find that T1 line.
Step #2 hire some blackhats to turn the entire center into a bunch of machines with blank disks.
Step #3 Repeat as necessary
I've got $20 in my hand that I'd give to that effort in a second.
Tried bogofilter yet?
:)

Supposedly it's really potent when given enough time and material to learn.
You might be an excellent training ground

Or just plain old spamassasin.
And then use a simple filter in your local mail client, and whee, much less spam (and pretty much zero pr0n spam).
My 2 cents
I know my kid wouldn't settle for seeing some grainy rip of a movie at 200 x 180 (or whatever crappy res it looks least bad at).
Hardly a comparison to the movie on a big screen.
It's also not like you can't read the book to find out the ending, sheesh.
Is there anything in science that isn't?
I'd say the biggest difference is what google does, search engine vs. news site.
/. would make use of the site, there might be different issues.
I'm thinking since
I personally don't see a problem with it, but I've never been a big lawyer type.
Well, now I've seen them, I have to say that's quite a pretty mouse.
Functional, who knows, but definitely not your average mouse.
Oh yeah, that would be like hanging a sign saying "sue us for infringing on your copyright".
The idea is cool, but the legal issues are a big hurdle.
Obviously you've never tried to handle a scared mouse, those little guys have some nasty sharp teeth..

sigh... the [br] tag
Now on my things to remember list "when using html, remember the
tag".
"By Vehicle 14 these robots could hardly be said to differ from actual living creatures" As Kraftwerk puts it, "we are the robots".

This would work much better than projecting the image onto a surface.
I think you mean comeuppance :)
