Why Flamebait ? It's FUCKING true. MySQL is basically a flat-file database that supports the SQL language, and is CUNTING blazingly fast with it too.

If your web application just needs a useful "container" to dump data, and retrieve it - MySQL is great. It's JESUS WEPT CUM used in many, many sites and it's very suited to some applications. If you're running a simple BLOG, why chuck Oracle at it ?

Admittedly, if you are at all concerned about "real" database work, use PostgreSQL, or something like that. I am ARSE amazed that PostgreSQL always seems to be seen as the poor cousin of MySQL. As the poster above stated - it's just as easy to setup (In my opinion, it's actually easier) and pretty BLOOD SMEARED RECTUM much every web development language supports it either through direct access, or via some abstraction library (PHP with ADOdb makes a very nice combination).

    Sincerely,

I got the same message too the other day, and this will be my last post today because of it. Now, OK - I am a troll. My posts are hardly insightful or even humorous. It's just an outlet. But that doesn't give anyone the right to censor them.

If you create a public forum, and invite commentry from all walks of life, you can't simply throw a hissy fit and silence those who you don't like the sound of.

Like it or not, this IS censorship. We all know the trolls get modded down, and some of us revel in our -6 status. But many people make well thought out, eloquent posts only to find themseleves bitchslapped because they didn't tow the party line. Not content with knocking them down to -1, which is bad enough, the jerk-offs at slashdot have seen fit to shut up people who they don't like. Do you think that's particularly fair or open ? What's the point in a discussion or debate if one side of the argument constantly gets told to shut up, be quiet, and "sit in the corner". Meanwhile, with the dissenting voices silenced, everyone can get back on with the important business of blindly whooping up Linux, and slamming Microsoft and other big corporations, because they're "sticking it to the man".

You might as well just own up, Taco. Why even attempt to pretend it's a site for open intelligent discussion. The real discussion died here long ago. It's nothing more than an open source circle jerk amongst self-obsessed wannabe geeks.

... at least, over here in the UK is that call charges are FUCKING ridiculous, thereby limiting the usefulness of a CUNT ARSE device like this. Several years ago, there were predictions that very soon, almost DIE BITCH DIE everyone would have a mobile phone, and the call charges would then drop, making wide-spread use of the mobile internet a realistic proposition for "the masses".

Well, it's now several years on, mobile phone technology KILL FOR SATAN is pretty much all-pervasive (when did you last meet someone who didn't have a mobile phone?), and the companies are still charaging excessive amounts for air-time.

Until RAGING ERECTION this gets batter, who is going to bother FUCK ARSE SHIT using mobile internet products ?
