    Gah, Damn you dreamcast, your pokey grey control pad dug into my thumb as I tried in vain to mash the yellow and blue buttons at the same time to make voldo bend over backwards. I have long fingers and my index fingers would be crushed like my legs in the back seat of a geo and rubbed raw.

    Frankly I think it would be best practice to check your email account given to you from your ISP. Like it or not its a line of communication that ISP's like to use to talk to their users.

    $350 for a thin client plus $200 for the RDP license (1 CAL and 1 RDP CAL). Plus they still modify files on the computer. Now it just takes one talented induhvidual person that can screw up the server.

    I had a 2000 cd in hand but 2000 takes so long to install I figure just go light and use 98. Barely notice the difference between home and office xp at work.

    However, you need orders of magnitude less uranium than you do coal. Which is more polluting?

    Well I think that when mining for coal you scoop bucketfulls of ore and ship the entire contents in a bag. But when mining uranium you gather traces of it at a time to be refined into useable uranium, so the ratio can easily be at least 1:1, which is fine with me frankly. Obviously if its an issue of giant gas eating machines causing pollution to mine the material we can simply plug those big machines into mobile nuclear reactors and be done with it. Perhaps its not the mining portion that is pollutant but the refinement.

    I've heard that the mining of the uranium is very pollution intensive. I'm not sure if thats green earth propiganda or the hidden secret of nuclear energy.

    I went down to one in vegas, and even though they had a blue shirt patrolling every other isle it gets boring asking them were every little thing is. The store is way to big to just LOOK for what you want. I was figuring interactive "you are here" maps in terminals on the pillars where the phones are. Nothing difficult about that at all. In fact the more I think of it they should really test the waters with kiosk type maps before pumping money into "smartcarts", if those things arn't perfect in implementation people will get no use from them at all.

    I belive that classic roms are different then music. $2 for hours of gameplay. Even in my teens I could only listen to a song 10 times in a row before getting tired of it.

    Ok, parent established the benefit that roms have over cartiges, yet you want it to be cheaper because... it doesn't cost them as much? Frankly you need to charge at least $2 a game so people take you seriously. Would I feel bad about pirating a $.50 game? at all?

    Bingo, online is a lot more fun when your not trying to be the best.

    I bought warcraft 3 when it first came out and just now am starting to play it again. When it first came out I would only play online if I felt I was in top shape so I wouldn't ruin my ladder. Now I really dont care what level I am, I play when I feel like it and I can count on blizzards matching service to keep me relatively within my leage of players. Frankly its a lot more fun now then it was months ago. I think if fps games had a matching service limiting the skill of players to certain servers it would be alot more fun. Balancing teams doesn't seem to be enough when 1 player on each side is accounting for %50 of the frags for their team.

    Actually that would be counter productive. I think most people will see the doorway page, see "flash required" and hit the back button. If they saw a text only link they would jump all over that pummeling it to death.

    Indeed, I think the form factors are small enough now that we can start making our own webpads (even if the battery life is not that great) but there is no such thing as a cheap touchscreen. Which basically... sucks.

    What are you really using 232 for?

    We use 232 for home automation and often need more then 2 ports. In this case its much easier to use USB converters.

    Do you really need to send boot messages through the kernel?
