When I was 17, I learned how to drive a car. There were 2 car types back then, automatic and stick shift, I learned them both. At the same time, I learned flash 3, motion tweening a little bit of actionscript (if thats what it was called back then). Today I can hardly belive Flash MX is made by the same company let alone the same product. A few years ago I started learning VB, now I can hardly get certification for it cause MS is pushing dotnet. Which i'm not to excited to learn cause its editor is so damn slow on my ancient 1ghz machine.
But I still drive around no problem.
Now I dont hate computers. I love it, but looking back, i'm not surprised at the other people who do hate it.
The term micropayments has been around in theory for a while, although what I renember sounds rather different then what is being mentioned here. In my way of thinking micro is in the pennys realm. Want to read the next newyorktimes article from slashdot? After signing up it will cost you.5-10 cents (yes, 1/2 a cent) for you to read the article or perhaps all day pass to the site. Consider it the replacement of banners only this time the webmasters actually get money. Th reason we havn't seen this before is because CC transactions are way to expensive (and there is no reason for them to become any cheaper). What would need to happen is a paypal like system where they hold your money while you spend it on affiliated sites. I bet this will start with porn sites first. Yes they have it already but I dont think its on a micro level yet. Imagine $.50 for 10 minutes (even though most people will only need 3 minutes...) or 1/2 cent for high res images. Anyway, porns been a great inspiration because they actually make money (so i'm told) it would be nice to see the industry start a commerce revolution.
The ColdFusion web application server is regarded as superior to Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASPs) and even Santa Clara, California-based Sun's Java Server Pages (JSPs) because of its simplicity, power and completeness. ColdFusion MX, meanwhile, uses ColdFusion Mark-up Language (CFML) tags that compile to Java.
Good one guys, you had me till I got to this part! But I think we all know cold fusion has worse syntax then html itself. Anyone who defends cold fusion hasn't made any mid level applications with it or only used it to launch servlets or COM components (getting as much code as possible out of cold fusion).
Well since we are on the subject of cars there is a trailer manufacturer (or distributor) called starcraft. Alsmost every weekend you can see a trailer with the words starcraft on it. Now do I instantly think of a silly game?
Duh! of course I do! I think its inapropriate to mention starcraft without clear indications that it is not affiliated with blizzard. Going off the wall but seriously, who cares about another UFO book?
Eh, I dunno, seems to me once a company turns a profit people look at it like they are gonna get a return next year. When RedHat first started everyone figured in 2 years they will be as big as microsoft. 4 years later... That sliver a black is a slap in the face to investors.
This kind of stuff scares the hell out of me.
Between 'loosly defined' patent enforcement and
lawsuits that exist just to pay lawyers. This is the kinda stuff George Orwell warned you about (I dont think even he saw this comming).
Having a hard time taking down you local dictatorship? Try taking one down thats got laywers instead of militia.

Aparently it had some hot branding with the techys! in fact so hot that by just listing other engines results they can get./ exposure! I can do google/inktomi/blah blah my site and wont even have to pay for listings! (because i'd never go over bandwidth, because no one would care, cause I dont have techy branding)

Thats it! i'm going to buy an island, start over, we should have seen it comming when public transportation only got worse as technology improved.
Crap, i'm off my meds, I dont take any pills, too much cofee? too litle? I dunno, cant shutup. I'm a troll, i'm a troll, lord help me.
I used to like apples over oranges, but one time I bit into a rotten apple, so I tried an orange and it was really great! Some people say bananas are great but cause they are really easy to share, well they are wrong, I've never tried bannanas so they obviously are not that good.
This is not offtopic! If you must mod me down do it cause I did a poor job! But people become so gradeschool in defending one technology over the other when %99 your defending your provider not your technology. *rereads parent* omg, 5? i'm going down for sure!
According to may calculations you have enough DSL routers to power a bewulf cluster powerfull enough to knock russia off its rocker!

Similar mindset, a wee bit cheaper as well. Great customer service.
Maybe now the buisness card cd's will costs less then their larger counterparts.

Anyone a little concerned about "The China Syndrome"?
Sounds great, you'll be a manager in no time and order around all us underlings who just want to program.
Yea, this is a score 2 for sure, maybe it will make it to 5. But me? nah i'm a troll.

Companys these days drop you like you were spam.

Companys need to care about customers, not shareholders.
By the way, as icing on the pessemistic cake of doom, McDonalds drew a loss this quater, not the airplane people, the fast food people!
This picture is incredible, Heinlein would be proud! God I hope this works i'd love to see these things ascend and come back.
I just had this vision of AOL pushing dsl and mailing out 1 million routers with a free trial...
*shudder*
I wonder if MSN can sue MSN for spamming their spam filter.
This post may sound redundant by itself, but think of it as 'keyword rich'.
