  1. its just too much on Why Users Hate IT Products and Developers · · Score: 1

When I was 17, I learned how to drive a car. There were 2 car types back then, automatic and stick shift, I learned them both. At the same time, I learned flash 3, motion tweening a little bit of actionscript (if thats what it was called back then). Today I can hardly belive Flash MX is made by the same company let alone the same product. A few years ago I started learning VB, now I can hardly get certification for it cause MS is pushing dotnet. Which i'm not to excited to learn cause its editor is so damn slow on my ancient 1ghz machine.

But I still drive around no problem.

Now I dont hate computers. I love it, but looking back, i'm not surprised at the other people who do hate it.

  4. I've heard of this before on A Viable System for Micropayments? · · Score: 1

The term micropayments has been around in theory for a while, although what I renember sounds rather different then what is being mentioned here. In my way of thinking micro is in the pennys realm. Want to read the next newyorktimes article from slashdot? After signing up it will cost you .5-10 cents (yes, 1/2 a cent) for you to read the article or perhaps all day pass to the site.
Consider it the replacement of banners only this time the webmasters actually get money.
Th reason we havn't seen this before is because CC transactions are way to expensive (and there is no reason for them to become any cheaper). What would need to happen is a paypal like system where they hold your money while you spend it on affiliated sites.
I bet this will start with porn sites first. Yes they have it already but I dont think its on a micro level yet. Imagine $.50 for 10 minutes (even though most people will only need 3 minutes...) or 1/2 cent for high res images. Anyway, porns been a great inspiration because they actually make money (so i'm told) it would be nice to see the industry start a commerce revolution.

The ColdFusion web application server is regarded as superior to Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASPs) and even Santa Clara, California-based Sun's Java Server Pages (JSPs) because of its simplicity, power and completeness. ColdFusion MX, meanwhile, uses ColdFusion Mark-up Language (CFML) tags that compile to Java.

Good one guys, you had me till I got to this part!
But I think we all know cold fusion has worse syntax then html itself. Anyone who defends cold fusion hasn't made any mid level applications with it or only used it to launch servlets or COM components (getting as much code as possible out of cold fusion).
