Cant you just by a few litres of flourinert and save yourself the potential leak problems? Isn't that what they used to pump around the old cray supercomputers? My cooling solution does just fine tho: a fan. I sleep with my machines about 2 feet from me and feel awkward if I dont hear them humming away. Whats the big fuss about getting a few more megahertz out a process? All that effort and the results are pointless. But, alas, people do the same with cars and bikes, spend hundreds on exhausts and the like to squeeze a couple more horsepower that they will never notice anyway. Time for bed.

You are 100% spot on. I really do think MS is fucked this time, there simply is no competing against a free product, and even less chance when that free product is getting better and better by the day. Just like the stock market people will dump shares as soon as they get a sniff that there might be problems, and me personally, I've been getting huge wafting stink bombs for some time now that Microsoft really is on the wane. Its not the the open source community that is attacking them- they seem to be doing a very, very good job of fucking things up themselves. DRM, licensing, fucked up EULA's, IE, in fact everything about them now tells me that they are running around like headless chickens trying to figure out what they can do to stop the rot. The truth is, there's nothing they can do. How can you compete against free? You cant, game over. Eventually Microsoft will dwindle, its invetable and I think Balmer knows that more than anyone. This, by the way, is written by someone who has their entire livelyhood invested in MS technology, my business relies on it, my technical skills are all Microsoft bound. But, I'm changing, not because I really have to but that I cant afford to be a one trick Microsoft pony any longer. Linux and other OS is coming, and I feel its coming a lot faster than most people think, and I dont want to get left behind. I have a new machine all set up waiting for Mandrake. I've got an awful lot of learning todo- a whole new OS, I dont have a clue how to develop applications or even use Linux, but heck, it should be fun. I've also got an awful lot of porting to do. This should get interesting! (I just feel a little lost and scared)

  8. The emulator is wrong on Cheating Fruit (Slot) Machines · · Score: 0

I hate to bust there bubble but as old regular player of the eastenders machine i can safely say that that emulator isnt emulating it correctly.

Every single hi-lo gamble I have done on the emulator has lost, and thats not the case in real life. It also seems to pick a 2 99% of the time on the first spin of the eastenders sub-game, which is also wrong.

You cant base on argument on something that is obviously not working right. But you know what, the whole argument is flawed anyway, everybody knows that in the long term you will lose, and if you dont know that you shouldnt be playing them. Fruit Machines (yes, Mr. American, so called because they have fruits on the reels, sheesh!) are a game of chance, if you hit them on a win streak you will make money, if you dont you wont. It also helps if you know how to play them, how to let them spin after holds, what drop sequences will pay out etc. Play them blindly and you will most definitely lose.

To say there is some hidden big secret about them is stupid. To play them at all is even more stupid.

At the end of the day a broswer shows fucking web pages, does it really MATTER who owns it? I don't really give a shit whether it says IE/Opera/Mozilla/Whatever in the about box as long as I can surf the net. You open source nutters really do get touchy about such things dont you, and have the cheek to call Mr. Gates competitive! Christ, if its not Mozilla wanting to be the top browser you want that dogs asshole of an OS to beat Windows!

Strangely (more stupid me) I keep downloading Mozilla, keep checking out Linux from time to time and yes things do progress ever so slightly, but on the whole both are shit and thats exactly the reason they won't be denting the MS monopoly anytime soon. When they are better then yes, fine, maybe people will use them, until then, why not shut up whining and get on with making some competitive products?

I agree with you totally. I always had an attitude of superiority until I realised some time ago that for some people, sometimes things just dont work out and life is an endless struggle. I personally have worked 14/15 hours solid for the last year in pursuit of my own dreams of success. I should point out that my parents have basically given me a room to live in and food to eat, supported me through all of this for a long, long time and when someone pointed out that without that I would have had to *work* for someone else, I wouldnt have been able to do it. This isnt making much sense, but I agree it's fine and dandy dabbling over whether I want a DVD in my Jacuzi but know for all time that while you are chilling out watching Friends while bubbles tickle your ass, some KID in some shit hole somewhere is slashing their legs or breaking bones, begging for sympathy, for life. At some point you realise there's not a great deal you yourself can do about these things, but preaching that it is someones *fault* or lack of intelligence, well so fuck even if it is they are human and nobody deserves that. i am all for enjoying your money, I know I will when I get it, but I also know that I would leave my snob attitude at the wine bar and might just be found pissing in the jacuzis of rich arrogant dickheads like you find on this elitist speakeasy.
