    Trying to persuade people that what they do normally at work is open source, but calling it open source makes it somehow better will see you swiftly moved into the loon category in the workplace hierarchy.

    Big deal, I have several trees growing in my garden from seed, which I intend to gnaw down with my own teeth before turning the wood into pulp for paper on which I will hand write every copy of my forthcoming autobiography 'Sprout from the veggie patch'. This sure to be a classic will of course be hand delivered by me and I will be available 24/7 to read it aloud for the visually impaired, or anyone purchasing the audio version.

    Yes there are nice widgets out there and some look quite cool, unfortunately after staring at them for 2 weeks at work they have become so tacky your eyes are starting to bleed and a nice dull functional gray scheme seems very appealing.

    since people here (Ireland) and the UK are basically being encouraged to rack up debt is some one to crack Mastercard/Visa and wipe out all the amounts owed on credit cards. Might encourage the financial institution to be a little less carefree with their lending policies.

    I agree totally with the gp, I have my team regularly review each others code and profanity, derogatory comments etc are totally, and I mean totally unacceptable. Its not something then comes up often, as I think most commercial developers are conscious of the fact that its not actually their code to do with as they please and there will be reviews.

    Professionalism aside though its something which can't be tollerated in a commercial environment as very often other depts see the code as well so putting stuff like 'this steaming heap of shite method is only here cos those fucktards in marketing spend more time wanking than thinking' is really only asking for trouble in a corporate environment.
