Does anyone seriously think IBM are overly concerned about being sued by Microsoft if they contributed to wine. The most likely reason they dont is because its just not interesting form them, just like its not interesting for most companies.
Would someone like to post list of FOSS projects that have been killed due to litigation, or even threat of litigation. I assume this list must be quite lengthy given the amount slashdotters bang on about it.
I use walkers and I hate stairs, I prefer to have my imperial stormtroopers carry me on a royal litter when encountering stairs as we rampage across the galaxy.
But O'Connor adds that a series of mechanical breaks will activate should there be a sudden loss of pressure, to prevent the capsule falling.
This statement is actually correct. In the event of a sudden loss of pressure mechanical arms break some of the passengers limbs and jam them into the sides of the elevator to prevent the elevator from falling, so technically they are mechanical break brakes.
Saying 'I'm part of a continuing investigation that uses observation, hypothesis testing, measurement, experimentation, logical argument and theory building to lead to more adequate explanations of natural phenomena' will be a pussy magnet line when she asks what you do for a living.
Imagine what a disgruntled ex-employee can do with this kind of power.
They could potentially file a bogus report, or a few dozen of them, with Microsoft to get their ex-employer's supply cut off. All the person would have to do is download a pirated copy of the software, and claim the company sold it to them.
I love what you consider 'power'. If anyone is prepared to engage in fradulent activity then they have this 'power' of which you speak.
Presumably, Microsoft is going to cut off supply to any distributor who sells EULA violating copies of their products. Perhaps in many cases, legal action is going to ensue. How much money would a store lose before Microsoft realizes it was a mistake?
This is slashdot, fewer distributors of windows cannot possibly be a bad thing here.
Businesses have been slow to pick up on this opportunity, so the Air Force decided to give them a little push with this contract
What would have been really cool is if the Iranian airforce had awarded a 100 million dollar contract to SpaceX, if only to see how quicky an embargo could be applied.
All AMD has to do to make this happen is compete in price with Intel.
No, they can probably do that already. What AMD really need to do is invest a gazillion dollars in Fab capacity so they can compete on volume and quality with Intel, then then market will come to them. Its the lack of a gazillion dollars and investor scepticism regarding AMDs ability to mass produce high yield chips thats holding them back.
Massive, multi billion dollar corporation suffers small setback and so doom is imminent.
Intel will only be in trouble when Dell, HP, Fujitsu and every other major manufacturer drop them in favour of AMD. Until that happens its business as normal.

Its cos its geek cool. I was quite surprised when a number of my non techie friends rejected gmail invites after some of my techie friends had practically begged for them. The reason? they were uncomfortable regarding privacy after reading the t&c. This morning I was installing the google web accelerator until I got to the 'we may record personally identifable data on you' and even better, 'we may download pages you have not actually requested to your machine' parts at which point it went in the bin. Lets make it the microsoft web accelerator and see what sort of response that eula would get here.
This proof will be the final step in achieving a 10x performance increase in the DNF rendering engine. We can expect to see DNF released shortly after this guy completes the solution.
They are going to mate with SUN and then bite its head off.
oh wait, they are not really spider people are they.
500 of clog development research and technology is no use to anyone but Dr Scholl
everything sucks
or in its alternate form
everything is a load of shite
Needless to say this quite brilliant encapsulation of everything has sparked some debate as to whether the shite is real or metaphysical.

Would you say then then GPL should be replaced on code more than 5 years old and a do as you please license attached?
will require serious stitching or no star will want to merge with her again.
However, if I could have my wife (and/or our friends) play with me, it would make the game much more appealing!
I think you have gotten swinging and gaming confused here.

Anyone else wondering if it's named that because of the Millenium Falcon?
Its actually named after his mothers favourite movie, the maltese falcon, despite her cursing him with such an amusing name.
