You may not be reading this wrong, but it is wrong nonetheless.

SQL CE data resides on the Pocket PC, however it can be replicated to a grown up SQL server as needed, and provided proper connectivity.

A typical use of this technology is a driver in the field. They get their data replicated down from the SQL Server, then they head off for a day off deliveries. Transaction are then done by the driver on the SQL CE side. He/she brings it back to the loading dock at the end of the day and replicates his/her transactions back to the SQL server. I know that Nabisco is currently doing exactly that.

It is expensive to run, it is expensive to maintain and more importantly there is not enough demand for it.

As an avid Opera fan I am definitely impressed with the turnaround.

I have been using Opera as my primary browser for some time (even on my Windows machines) and I am very impressed with Opera 7 itself. It is quite an upgrade from Opera 6 - especially in DHTML rendering.

While I was discouraged to see the surprising list of flaws, I was encouraged at thier commitment to fix them.

It seems to me that in Microsoft's position, they are not obligated to do anything. They control the biggest monopoly in the computer industry and they are in the habit of making companies/projects obligated to make their systems work with Microsoft systems. There is no reason for Microsft to be obliged to do anything with a port of their CLR.

Even though this sets everything up for copy protection, I am encouraged by this. Here's why.

HDCP is imminent. There is nothing (or next to nothing) that we can do about it. If they are going to do it, then at least do it consistently. I don't want to have to rebuy the TV that I bought earlier this year (it has DVI) in another 2 years.

Secondly, there is a path for those who don't have DVI. There are thousands of people who have purchased an HDTV or HD ready TV in the past few years that would be screwed if they don't handle for this.
