    the walls are about a half to three quarters I think...bottom is much thicker...prolly an inch. There's an extra two inches added to the top of the mass for head. Clay mugs have a line drawn inside showing the 1 liter mark and the glass mugs have a distinct line around the top. The clay mugs are a bit thinner than the glass ones. I've seen more than one broken over the head of a drunken fool.

    believe it or not, those are the wisest words on these boards right now... How many people eat just to eat? How many ONLY eat when their stomach tells them they are hungry? Do you snack because it looks good? Would you brush off dinner if your stomach wasn't empty? Most people eat out of pure habit. People associate food with a time of day, not neccessarily how they are feeling. You look at the clock and see that it's 11:30, your mind registers that it's almost lunch time and you start thinking about food....

    a mass is 1 liter...that's 1000 milliliters...
    a 64 oz cup is 1920 milliliters..

    while the 'mugs' are large, they are only a liter...

    This is the same principle behind brick pizza ovens. The fire isn't in there to cook the pizza, it's to heat the zone and they're usually started a long time before cooking any pizzas.

    actually, the question should be, do anyone here REALLY think than anyone on a plane is going to let a terrorist brandish ANYTHING? I mean really... think... if 4 guys got up on a plane with knives tomorrow... exactly how long do we think they would last? I'd be willing to start the pool...buck a pop... 5000-1 odds if he shows a box cutter....


    you 'are' correct... a terrorist can kill people with anything.... but my point here is about the security and the belief that they will try the same, exact, thing, again....... and no kidding...what happened to just diverting the plane to cuba...gah..

    Exactly how much do you really get to know someone in quake? Are you really typing that much? MMORPG are based on grouping and you tend to type just a little more than in quake. You tend to get to know people a heck of a lot better than a first person shooter. Your brother's IRL friends knew him...IRL. If you don't know someone that much, you're not going to grieve that much. I have great friends online and it'd hurt me imensely to see something to happen to one of them, but you cannot seriously expect me to grieve the same over them as I would one of my real life good buddies. You can't even compare the two. How much can you grieve over a person when you don't even know what they look like? I'm sorry for your loss, but the comparison is bad.

    and for reference, I'm pretty sure that we all understand that it's not just thier character that died...really...

    Hundred bucks a pop is a LOT of money friend. You are misguiding people by making a generalization regarding what's "it's worth" to an IT Staff and the only number you are putting up is the price to purchase the operating system. What about downtime? What about internal support? What about time and money spent updating? What about viruses? What about buying a new OS every couple years because the company stops supporting the previous one? Every single on of these questions is linked to the IT budget. It isn't just about buying the OS.

    Microsoft didn't make thier money selling Windows 95 or 98 from a website bro.... Red Hat is going to need to keep selling thier product from retail stores at "competitive" prices to even remain "competitive" at any level. The great thing about linux is that if you don't want to pay that, you may download it for free. Get over it.

    How is it not wise? Say you have been hanging out with a guy that's in the Mafia. If the cops find out about him and see you with him all the time, whether you know that he's in the mafia or not, why would they not watch you or keep tabs on you?

    While it is a fallacy to say that all dogs bark just because everything that barks is a dog, I'm still going to keep my eye on those other dogs if they're hanging out with the barking dogs that took a dump on my lawn...even if I did hear barking...

    Generally speaking, a trained professional (and I'm not claiming that all air marshals are..I'm saying this as generally as I can) in any group that is using visualization to test out different patterns and scenarios to try and prepare for an encounter is not going to subject himself to a highered state of adrenaline that would set something off. It's a relaxed mental exercise almost akin to rote memorization. (this is more of a 'they shouldn't be', rather than 'they won't be')
