Can't blame Lucas tho. He seems to be more inclined to entertain the kids rather than making a dark scifi movie. That's why all the new releases are so chock full of cuddly characters.
Unlike the 3rd movie of the originals that had the evil, vicious, non cuddly characters known as ewoks.
Didn't they have a similar problem with the airbags on the pathfinder mission? I believe that the air bags were not fully retracted and it was preventing the ramp from deploying. However they were successful in raising the panels and retracting the air bags on pathfinder so hopefully this will not be a problem.
Actually as part of a contest on the Daily Planet on Discovery channel Canada they asked how many balloons would be required to lift the small dog they dog (dog mass.75kg I believe). I'm sorry to say but it was more like 200 helium party balloons required.
Does noone remember the google search "go to hell" with microsoft as the top result. This is bad but its not the first time we've seen biased search results.

Actually Microsoft has gone to great lengths in order to not break compatability with many products. This has also made many products (eg Windows) weaker. Thats why you can still run 10 year old windows software on windows xp.
"findings suggest that if you want to lose weight, you should eat fewer calories and do so over a long time period."
This is amazing! Who would of thought that if you eat less over long periods of time you lose weight? Well done.
Reminds me of a "Family Guy" episode where the daughter asks, "I don't know why I can't lose weight" The dog responds, "heres a hint, put down the fork!"
Ofcourse you can't be bothered linking to this post can you? Did it occur to you that my reply was maybe the 6th to this article and therefore preceided this post. I believe I asked a legitiment question based on the vagueness of this article.
"He noted a number of time periods are listed in the Book of Daniel from the Old Testament. One of these is 1,260 days, which Newton interpreted as 1,260 years, based on a day-per-year principle. The time frame is one in which Newton interpreted to stand for a period when the church (Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Anglican) would be mired in deep corruption.
In his attempt to decode the mind of God, Newton determined that 1260 date actually began in 800 AD, a time when the Roman Catholic church was given political power over countries. He then added 1260 to 800 to arrive at the date of 2060 for the Apocalypse. It is mentioned twice in his manuscripts."
So he sees 1260 days referring to something in the old testiment then interpruts that to mean years then adds it to the year the Roman catholic church gains power. Sounds like he added together some arbitrary numbers to me. What is his reason for interpruting 1260 days as years anyways and why does that added to the year the roman catholic chuch gained power mean anything? Maybe Newton went mad after studying the book of Revelations for 60 years.
Yea but before it was a science news show and now its just catching more wild animals and doing something with them and a stupid women with a british accent. They also seem to be aiming for a wider (or lower) audience. The physics or christmas tree lights? Come on that was pathetic. I want my old science news show back DAMNIT!
so flying is statisticly the safest form of transportation right? Well it really matters how the data is interpreted. I'm guessing that compares the number of flights to the number of crashes, but what if someone were to compare the number of injuries to the number of flights? I bet flying would look a lot worse. Just a thought because I can't find exact figures.
THERE NOT REMOVING GAUGES.
Just having them in a digital form. If anything the system could now tell you if your sensor is not working, not just looking at a non moving gauge and guessing its not working. This is also not a way to make it much easier for idiots to operate complex machinery without sufficient training. Its just making something like reading a gauge much simpler. You know instead of guessing at the position of a needle you get a clear readout of the number.
I'm also pretty sure its not going to be using windows so your computer readout is not going crash. It wasn't that long ago that the space shuttle switched to having like 11 digital displays instead of lots and lots of analog. It works for them so I'm sure it can make life simpler in piloting other vehicles.
who pays for all the pilots to be re-trained?
The displays would be a lot simpler. I don't think retraining is required. Instead of having a gauge showing your altitude, speed or whatever you just look at the display that says Altitude and read the number. I don't think this requires retraining. Benefits of this system would be the ability to switch between different units, customization for different pilots and easy to read and learn as it mentions.
I agree with you that the passenger will still have to pay for this, but this offers benefits.
yes but would you be gaining more energy then you were loosing the next day by trying to regain that alitude? Unless you have actual data your idea doesn't sound that usefull.
The uses of this system do not require serialization. So this system can act as one and be used for one task and is supier to an ordinary computer. Does this not classify it as a supercomputer?
You won't be happy if these exploited countries ever figure out the states is full of more and more talentless people like businessman and lawyers and less talented people like engineers. They can already do things cheaper and better then the US. Maybe someday there will be an econmic switch.
A reason is given somewhere in the middle of
this. Basically it is believed supercomputers could help "The evil dooers/terrorists" research weapons of mass destruction or harm America in other ways.
The network executivies dont care that you watch more telelvision now than you ever did because your watching significantly less of their advertising.

oh dear god, mod parent up! I hope other people got this joke.

Personally I liked @discovery canada a lot more then Daily planet. Now they show too much biology and not enough physics, chemistry and technology.
you know its a slow news day when........
if your system is unstable its most likely due to your own misconfiguration or the software your using. Not the processor
forget the clock rate. How about a pentium that matched the performence for anything near the same price?
