I had that happen to me - I was sitting on church steps with a girl and cops pulled up and demanded ID. I truthfully told them that I didn't have any ID. I was cooperative, asked them if they wanted us to leave, etc.
I was arrested. Only after I was finally released hours later and got to read the arrest report did I find out that I was apparently being charged with "disorderly conduct" and "refusal to comply with a police order to disperse."
Bottom line is, if a cop wants to fuck with you just for the sake of fucking with you, he can - and the Supreme Court just made it easier for them.
zactly. When Gemini "whatever" flew to the then record hight of 850 miles, it was the first manned flight to take photos that clearly showed curvature.
curvature even in LEO is barely noticable if at all unless a wide-angle lens is used.
The fact is that DirecTV is not viable without paying subscribers. So once again we encounter the problem of common good versus the I-want-my-MTV mentality. Why is it that people think that, just because they can do something, they have a right to do so?
Why is it that a company that needs the government to enforce its otherwise impractical business model automatically thinks it has the right to do so?
"You're beginning to believe the illusions we're spinning here. You're beginning to think that the tube is reality and that your own lives are unreal."
This was in the days of three networks and shows like All In The Family. Is there any doubt now that its no longer BEGINNING, but is now fact that people think TV is real and their own lives not? "Reality" Shows dominate the networks and they all are alike in one way - they are about as far from reality as anything could possibly be.
I worked for Fisher-Price, and as great a company as they were (pre-Mattel buyout) even they did this.
Product development and release cycles are so accelerated that companies don't have much choice - fully testing a product can take over a year once the final design and production process is set, but there's no way you can wait that long before releasing it. If you try, you'll inevitably be scooped by the competition.

2. monopolistic practices are NOT capitalism at work.
To be fair, the UN wasn't doing their job with Iraq. The US didn't ignore them, they just couldn't wait any longer. Somehow I doubt that'll take place here, especially if the US's interests are being served.
How well can you see with your head so far up your ass?
If people are concerned about the wait while the disc burns, this could be a solution: The machine keeps one copy of every combination or selection already burned. Face it, people are not going to want to browse through hundreds of titles with this thing - too many button pushes. So there will not be too many titles available, hence no need for a large amount of pre-burned discs.
So, when you push the button to buy disc #12, it pops out immediately... then the machine burns a new copy while you're already out the door.
good! Now we can catch all those large corporations costing the government billions each year byt not paying taxes, because they open up a post office box in the Cayman Islands. You know, companies like Halliburton! This will be great!
One day, in 1978, Ron decided to go sightseeing near the Damascus Gate, in Jerusalem. Walking along an ancient stone quarry, known to some as "the Calvary Escarpment," he was talking with a local authority about Roman antiquities. Without warning, Ron's left hand pointed to a site being used as a rubbish dump and said, "That's Jeremiah's Grotto and the Ark of the Covenant is in there."
Even though these words had come from his own mouth and his own hand had pointed, he had not consciously said or done these things. The man with him, quite out of character, also reacted strangely. He said, "That's wonderful! We want you to excavate, and we'll grant you your permits, put you up in a place to stay and even furnish your meals!"Ron knew that this was a supernatural event but he also knew that not all supernatural events originate from God (Revelation 16:14).
Very difficult to explain?
No... there are a number of simple, rational explanations - they just happen to contradict your (and his) foregone conclusions.
For many years I have wondered why there wasn't someone doing this.
Personally, my idea was that you could design a case, monitor, keyboard, etc. so that it would fit various styles... say Cherry in an ornate antique style, or a circa 1901 arts & crafts mission oak look, etc.
no, there are no legitimate reasons, unless A. You have asked and have been given permission B. You point out in your auction that the item in the photo is NOT the exact same one as you are selling.
Problem is, every time congress passes a new budget, they change NASA's funding. This means that NASA effectively CAN'T plan any major project without it going WAY over projected costs and at the same time accomplishing much LESS than hoped - because every time funding for the project is cut, it must be redesigned, a process which just costs MORE money, creates delays, and reduces capability. Next year, same thing. Over and over and over. That is what happened to the shuttle, and that is what happened to the ISS. You end up with an insanely expensive project that fails at doing what it was first planned to do.
I had this happen to me once when I ran an auction for a PXL-2000 camcorder. Someone linked to my pic for their auction, so I closed my auction and emailed all bidders why I did it, then I replaced the image file on my server with a jpg of text saying something along the lines of "The seller in this auction stole this picture from seller (myID). Do not bid on this item as the seller is dishonest and quite possibly doesn;t even have the PXL, may be out to rip you off"
The seller contacted me and apprently I had caused him a good deal of grief. Which is a good thing.
Hell, back in 1979 with my TRS-80 Model I, we used to turn our single sided 5-1/2" floppies (or were they 5-1/4"? I always forget) into double-sided ones with the quick use of a hole-punch!
Exactly.

I have an AIW 7500, same thing - love it kinda, but the ATI drivers have always sucked and I've never gotten it to work 100% successfully.
I have it now installed on a new PC and every time I try to watch TV the video display freaks and I have to reboot.
I've given up.

oh shit. I probably should have patented this.

whoops. Also forgot to mention that it violates eBay's rules.
Also violated copyright, but I don't like most copyright law so that part I ignore.

Killed in a car accident, head of a company that was trying to push for a different system with a paper trail of votes.
Suspicious?
Damn, I have been looking for a good new system! Thanks for the link! I placed an order!
Just looked up a job I'm qualified for. Then chacked the exchange rates for rupees to dollars.
Turns out if I move to india, I could earn close to THREE THOUSAND dollars a year!! woohoo!!!

Seems to be the latest thing.
Ati's latest TV software also requires it.
And so far they both seem buggy as shit. I reverted back to an old ATI version after no end of trouble.
