That's what amazes me about people who talk about terraforming Mars, etc. They talk like it would be so simple. Even if we had the tech to move comets, etc., and the various other things we would need to do - we DON'T have the knowledge of WHAT to do.
We can't seem to understand our OWN atmosphere enough to know what things (good or bad) we are doing to it even unintentionally. We can't agree on Global Warming, etc...
So what makes us think we will know just the right recipe for a cozy atmophere on Mars? We don't even know the right recipe for one here on Earth yet.
If you don't have it, you don't have it. Fact is, if they threaten ME, its going to court, because even if I would settle (which I wouldn't) I don't have a few thousand to give them.
So let them sue me for a few billion... whatever gives them their jollies.
but you AREN'T there, because you'd rather not do your civic duty, and would rather get off without serving. (and seem rather proud of it, for that matter.)
"recycling" of plastic is a scam in general, a public relations ploy by the plastic industry. Plastic items are rarely recycled, and the uses for recycled plastic are few. Recycled plastic is vastly inferior to virgin resin.
Add to that the fact that DVDs have dyes in them and who knows what other contaminants, and I am extremely sceptical about the true recyclability of these discs.
If you read the google information for publishers, they seem to want only publishers who publish a LARGE amount of content each year.
If you are a self-published author, you can pretty much forget about your book or books being covered. Likewise if you are a seller of old, out-of-copyright works, antiquarian books, etc.
I've always wondered about that... aren't there nasty chemicals in some paper that you don;t want in your compost? If not bleaches in regular paper, then at least chemicals in the microencapsulation in NCR paper used for receipts & stuff?
I wish I could be as optimistic as you... but personally I think we'll have a "War on Piracy" to go with our "War on Drugs" rather than more sensible laws.
with broadcast HDTV, you're going to need a tuner, whether it's in the TV or in the recording device. All tuners will have this new circuit.
Your TIVO will be useless.
The problem with waiting to buy a TV is, all HDTVs made starting in 2005 will have that pesky chip in them that prevents you from recording shows that the broadcaster (or producer) doesn't want you to...
Unless you wait ANOTHER year so you can then find out which models the hackers have figured out a way to circumvent that chip in...
Tried it with my all-in-wonder radeon 7500...
:(
Very slow and sluggish, glitches while watching tv, and while wathing live TV the sound was totally out of sync.
On top of that the installation fried my ATI TV software so I had to reinstall that.
interesting article. :sigh: you know, if I knew how to use a computer, I could RULE THE WORLD!! :(
but is it really a DDOS when the target doesn't actually exist, officially?

what you mean it doesn't beam the energy to the device? :( rats.
I was arrested for not producing an ID once.
Of course, the cops lied on the arrest report and gave a completely false reason for my arrest.
you're cute. :D
$97 billion or $1 million, what's the difference?

it could possibly cost LESS for a private citizen.
I was able to buy a toilet seat for ten bucks instead of six grand.

They shoulda used some decent Sandisk or Viking flash memory instead of that lousy Mr. Flash crap.
I used to work at Fisher-Price, maker of the PXL-2000. I could tell you some interesting inside stories about the thingie, but I won't. ;)
I still have four or five of them in a closet somewhere.
All iPods are too small to hold my entire 175 gig music collection.
caffeine free cock?

Guess I'll burn a little karma here. Good god, you're a fucking idiot.
I still have my TRS-80, and it's one of the first! The serial number is under 2k. :)
:D
um, isn't a computer game by definition fantasy? I dunno about you, but I'm sure as hell not playing any game where I ACTUALLY get shot!

How's this for an idea: something created NOT for the purpose of making a profit, but instead to inform and educate!
You're right, I'm sorry, that's crazy talk. :(
