OH mom jokes, boy that was both original and on topic, Your comedic timing is second to none.
Pull my head out of the 9/11 gutter? I'm not the fuckwad that keeps coming up with doomsday scenarios.
How about punishing people that actually commit crimes?
Instead of, you know, telling people that they can and can't do because you think they may do "bad ( I say that in the most infantile, condesending way possible) things."
I wasn't trolling. Trolls don't post using there names and linking to their weblogs.
I meant every part of what I wrote. It's retards like this who want ever little decision made for them by the government that knows best that are running this country into the ground. And I was being serious I wish he would just kill himself
Fuck you.
And fuck your government regulation of every god damn thing. How in the hell do fuck ups like you get up in the morning? Why bother. Just go fucking kill yourself already.
Hey!
That is very close to being accurate. First off you are right about too much money in politics and people and corporations b uying influence and laws.
I believe you are mistaken when it comes to the church of the free market though. It isn't a intellegent benevolent being, but it is without a doubt the best way for individuals to deal with each other. Any other system (socialism, communism) any control-type of economy steps on peoples toes at a minimum and tramples their rights as the norm. The free market system is the only way to guarentee the rights and property of individuals.
OK, So I was reading this post and thought maybe this guy knows what he's talking about and then I looked at the name of the poster and realized; no he doesn't. Please mod down!!! And isn't the new series called CVX?
"This is a Big. Freaking. Deal. Slashdot has reached a size and level of influence where it does not go unnoticed by the mainstream; I've seen more and more references to this site in "normal" news sites' tech stories. With greater exposure comes greater scrutiny, and unless the editorial staff makes a considerable effort to improve their reporting, we're going to become National Enquirer of technology news."
What's this we shit? Do you own this website? Are you bound to it in some other legal fashion? Do you have a Slashdot tattoo? The people running it are obviously fine with dupes, (I've been seeing the same complaints for years now.) So like the Parent rightly said BIG FUCKING DEAL!!! What do you care how it's preceived./rant
You Fucking Idiot!!! more legislation, that's always the answer! God I'm glad there are super smart pople like you that can plan out exactly what I might need and take any choice out of the matter. GO FUCK YOURSELF, YOU COMMUNIST PIGFUCKER!!!
Honest question on the RIAA's position here.
Similarly to another post here, but with a different spin.
If I leave my CD case in my car and all of my original cds are stolen; do I have the right to make a CD copy from the MP3's of the songs that I have on my hard drive? Or do I lose my rights because of the illeagal acts of another person?
This question is not for opinions of the slashdot crowd, I know how most of you feel about the issue , this is an honest question of the position of the RIAA.
Thank you,
C K
Thanks for your reply but this exactly what I meant. Why would the international record companies that have already signed on for the iTMS not want to expand the market, what is there that could be lost? Isn't Britiney's latest CD distributed in London and Minsk by the international arms of the companies that distribute it here in the US? I can see problems getting new foreign based companies to sign on (for the same reasons I suspect that american companies were reluctant), but now it's a proven business model, why would universal and sony et al. not be interested in doing the same thing with an expanded customer base. And as far as one Euro goes, let residents member countries that haven't adopted and non member countries do the exchange rate themselves.
offer one euro downloads, isn't this why they (europe) went to one currency? Let the record companies figure out how to divide their 60% that they get. Seems easy enough for me.
that is amendment four but I don't see anything about privicy there. That amendment says the government can't confiscate your property with out probable cause. there is no precedent at all.
Also FUCK barbara streissand, if she died today a horrible bloody death I wouldn't shed a tear, in fact I'd probably jump for joy. annoying self serving bitch.
bzzz try again, I have read books by Mises(Human Action), Hazlitt(Economics in One Lesson), Friedman(Free to Choose). First, while all are supporters of a free market, none of them are utilitarians. The two ideas are mutually exclusive. I defy you to make any sort of connection. One is about individual rights and property. The other is about making men sacrificial animals for the benefit of something that doesn't exist (s-o-c-i-e-t-y, I'm spelling it out so your pea sized brain might understand)
Now here is an argument that should be dead. Utilitarianism is no different than communism. Hey Drdale what do you do? I think you should quit getting paid and do it for free, the society would be so much better off if we didn't have to pay you and could fund our pet projects instead. That's all that matters, right, the most benefit for society? you make me sick.
How does this hurt anyone other than microsoft? Linux as an OS isn't going away because of this right? I'm sorry I don't understand how anyone here on slashdot or in any government thinks that they have the right to decide how microsoft dispenses with it's property. If Bill G. wants to give away his fortune dollar by dollar who the hell are we to tell him he can't?
I really wanted to mod on this story, but I decided to post instead. I think what everyone who has pointed to hypocrocy is missing the point. those of us saying that we are happy that these people are getting billed by the cable companies are happy because WE ARE SMARTER THAN THEM. We as technology whores/geeks/nerds whatever your branding would never be caught in this scam. We are laughing at people to stupid to do the proper research in to how to steal covertly.
You are an idiot!!! No rights are guarenteed to us by the government. All of our rights are derived from nature. The first amendment and all others only tell us what the government can not do. It is in no way meant to limit the contracts that individuals can voluntarily enter into; including usage agreements with AOL.
