it depends on whether or not there's anything worth keeping secret on the machines; though someone who wanted in could probably get in anyhow.
if i were an employee i'd actually be more immediately concerned about other employees logging in as me and f***ing with my stuff.
i'm not sure if it's my favorite, but i have to say i was most impressed by the cowboy bebop series. i bought the first disc (eps 1-5) and loved it so much i bought the whole box set. as far as anime goes, it's far and away my favorite series i've seen so far.
afaik so far my closest options have been Boston and NYC. As I live ~2 hours (NW Connecticut) from either, I haven't gotten the chance. I'd support a broader release.
maybe i got the wrong idea, but i thought the link was going to be about astronomy. it was... but then seemed to turn into a discussion on the issues with future amateur biology... this reminds me of the article Bill Joy had published in Wired magazine a few years ago called The future doesn't need us, which starts out as a very interesting discussion about the emerging state of widespread advances in genetic engineering, robotics and especially nanotechnology. Joy warns that these toys can/will have a hugely more deep-felt (even humankind-destroying capabilities) impact than any technology since the nuclear bomb. i found that part fascinating -- but then the thing turns into a huge drawn out discussion about the men whol pioneenered nuclear weapons, blah blah blah. i think joy sees himself as having something in common with the nuclear scientist weapons developers, because he sees that while he has helped bring computers to more and more people (a good thing), there are also bad sides to it as well. Face it bill, you're just a software guy.
Anyhow, i like the rarticle until it got into the genetic stuff. Ah well.
UNIX System Administration Handbook 3rd ed. doesn't cover OS X, but it does cover Solaris, HP-UX, FreeBSD, and RedHat Linux. I believe the 2nd edition (1995) cover Solaris, HP-UX, IRIX, SunOS, OSF/1, and BSDI
That kind of data is out there if you want it, but it isn't always in the format you want it and sometimes it's hard to find (less hard with google). I started a site for this kind of data at www.tonsoflists.com, which contains data in MySQL tables that you can format into different kinds of sets, orderings, formats, etc. Just did it for fun, but haven't gotten any feedback.
Anyone read this? I assume it's pretty unreadable. I tried reading a translated copy of Euclid's The Elements and was pretty dissapointed -- sure, it had good stuff in it, but it just wasn't a very interesting read.
Great series! I bought the first 5 episodes and liked them so much I bought the whole series:) Not only is the art terrific and the action scenes excellent, but the characters are likeable amd I care about what happens (something I've had trouble finding with other anime I've tried)
i can't help you there (http://www.parseerror.com/images/room6.jpg)
i was reprimanded for extensive offensive language in my code. how else to keep it interesting?
save yourself a few keystrokes and use this for your first line:
does the same thing as your first line.
don't worry, the guy in Office Space had the same dream
on the plus side: if you know or can find out managements' usernames you can see what they've been working on ;)

TiVo already has full motion video. i thought the trend went: text -> pictures and music -> video.

if they're commercial and can't give you a good idea why the commercial version is better, i don't know who can.
i always just turn the volume down when i want the noise cancel. *nyack nyack*

yes, i'm sure the terrorists would be first in line to sign up.
Microsoft told me there was no alternative...
I disagree, after watching the pirated Attack of the Clones I decided not to go to the theatres because the movie was so god-awful.

First celebrities had The Inquirer, now common folk have this.
yeah... right next to the "toys are possessed by magic and go on a rampage in Los Angeles" section...

I was hoping for the Tentacle Rape Hour, perhaps around dinner time.
