that is most likely due to an error-checking routine that checks specifically for 2 sequential complementing operations of the same number to bring you back to your original number.
the computer still has no concept of the real solution to that problem as humans do, it just has a special instance error-checking for that type of problem.
while, yes he is wrong about only being able to get good surf in the morning because of the tides, it is true at least in venice/Santa monica area, that you can mostly only get anything good in the morning because of the direction of the WIND.
Actually in all seriousness, speculation was made about this concerning EB White, considering the background of Turing, but no rumours against White were ever substantiated, only third hand accounts.
Despite whatever his orientation may have been, of which i don't claim to know, his portrayal of modern media in general as related to in the above article was very accurate indeed.
Oddly enough, EB white had been known to do significant work in Alan Turing in the development of a perfect AI model. As noted, EB white brought, "creativity and imagination to mathematics", in light of the little known fact that White WAS a physics major, and an expert in syllogistic systems.
Apparently Turing also shared many of the same political beliefs as him as well.
Just a strange little fact i guess that would indirectly affect us in the internet community.
actually, the beautiful thing is that i have not used ANY mod powers whatsoever. I know its hard to believe, but thats the truth. heh. which makes it even funner.
I do, however commend you, for being one of the only people with a brain around here. :)
What are you talking about?
Why dont you actually read the comment.. Do the research yourself. Please dont accuse of being a troll without even checking out the resources first of all. I know its customary to do such things around here, but some people are actually trying to bring useful information to this forum.
Although Myst, had been tagged as "Game Of The Year" from 1995 - 1997, the concept of a multiplayer game had been put off according to spokesman Terry Rutger because there could be "no justifable reason" to allow for multiplayer gaming. This was notably due to the fact that Myst was generally a non-violent game.
Also, the Myst team had come under minor attacks from various Civil Rights unions stating that if they were to come up with a multiplayer game, the players would have needed to be available in different races and cultures, so as not to promote "racial supremacy" among any certain player.
The software dev team "Y.H.B.T Software USA" had actually begun portinf Myst to multiplayer, but as expected they came under fire from Myst themselves under the guise of what was then early DMCA laws.
Having been involved with peer to peer technology even as far back 1989, i can say that it truly is wrong that people would steal intellectual property such as this.
I had worked for 11 years at a company of which i wish to remain nameless, who had basically specialized in developing secure tunnels for transporting data between various companies. We had actually been instrumental in developing various P2P methods and protocols such as RTP and ACIX just to name a few.
The company had actually decided to release this software to the public after many years, but it was to remain as a beta testing project as opposed to just releasing a final product.
We had seen countless terrabytes of pirated software and proprietary data go through those pipes, until one day we just came to the realization that this was just clearly wrong.
This was taking money from companies who had worked hard to develop something, then just giving it out to the public.
What Kazzaa is doing is wrong anyways, and should be condemned.
Although efforts to port the Palm OS to a commodore 64 have not yet succeeded. News is out (http://popularscience.com) that they gave ported the PalmOS to a ternery computing system, compliments of Bell Labs.
They claim that this could actually "revolutionize the way we think about personal computing devices."
The porting to the Sharp device is definitly an interesting read, but it is being sia dthat this will not really take off like they would like it to due to the fact that Palm OS is a Real-time OS, and the Sharp Zaurus was not built with real-time processing in mind. Upgrading their hardware to adapt to real-time needs on a mass-production level would cost Sharp millions of dollars for an investment that they are not even sure about.
DeCSS is only going to come under more and more attack. Senator Tom Daschel was already quoted as saying that he would be "behind legislation agaainst any DeCSS propaganda or code whatseover". This apparently was stated after it was rumoured that hos own son had brought the DeCSS song on MP3 to school, where it was confiscated by his teacher. (http://routers.com).
The irony in this is funny, but it is plain to see that this trend will just keep continuing.

This is a good idea, but the state of Nevada for instance has already made progress towards placing price floors on any "mainstream music distributions".
Because of pointless legislation such as this, projects like these will never succeed.
its amazing how, just now people are starting to discover the intents and purposes of this project.
This dates back to even as far back as mid 1995, when FBI head of the CyberCrime division even said himself that echelon was something that americans would "have to learn to get used to".
You would think that more awareness would be brought up concerning this considering that 9.3 billion of our tax dollars goes to the research and development of echelon a year. (http://w3.access.gpo.gov/usbudget/fy2003/db.html)
This is quite interesting considering that also at the same time, the state of California is coming after Lego Mindstorms for not making the implementation of the kits more easier to use and accessible for less educated kids, specifically those from poorer areas.
Lego could be forced to make a more scaled down version of mindstorms with new color coding of certain mechanical parts, and an available alternative "pre-built" kit.

there is nothing in netscape of any use that cannot be found in mozilla.
in addition, netscape has more bloat and is polluted with AOL code.
ps:
im still waiting for mozilla AND NS to take care of many of the (xslt + DHTML) bugs. That i believe is a huge facor which would get IE more popularity.

Let us not hate Red Hat just for finally being able to do what we have all wanted to do for years: turn OSS into a viable marketable tool.

Since you were trying so hard to be so technical, you completly missed the point.
Instead of trying to flame, why don't you actually research the facts.
Thank You.

If I am not mistaken, Y.H.B.T Software USA was also responsible for aiding in some of Loki's early game development strategies for Linux.

mod that guy up, then mod me down, then go bite a curb.

i wonder how fast is the thoroughput on my tin cup with string method.. of course thats not transmitting data, but i could build a modem for it.
or concord Jet full of IBM IDE drives....? well, if i factored in reliability, my vote would go with the bicycle.
