Well if you kept hearing that you are overqualified why not simply say "I tell you what, I'm willing to make a commitment to this company and sign a contract for X number of years." Make a commitment to work for them for certain amount of time that way they are assured that you want leave. Obviously they have the upper hand and you are locked into the job for that period of time but if the compensation is acceptable why not take the job and make a commitment? I've always thought that having a job is better than not having one.
Everyone is a loser ass the article said, especially the studios. Not only do they have to pay royalties to both factions but they bare the cost of supporting two format (3 if you add the chines). I mean, they'll be looking at having three difference partners producing different types of media disks instead of one.
In reality the big problem is the fact that all these factions want to make money on royalties so they have not incentive to work together. All these companies see is their bottom line and they definitely want their format adopted. I really would love to see royalty free DVDs and it seems the Chinese want the same thing to. If I was a studio executive or a some manufacturer I'd support the Chinese.
In my line of work Image, PDF, SGML and XML processing in our production environment take way too much time on a single machine so we spread the task of processing these files between several machines using RPC. The bottle neck, however, is no longer with the CPU but rather I/O Read/Write operations. Of course multi-core CPUs would reduce our overall costs of having to purchase multiple machines but unless the I/O bottle neck is removed we really don't care for the improvements in CPU speeds.
You see, I never said I don't believe in god. I do believe in god just not organized religion. Sure, organized religion does some good in this world but when it comes to spreading FUD they are the best at it.
I have nothing against Jews, Muslims or even those religions you referred to "inky-dinky-doo tribes of bumble-fuck [in] Africa." Their religion is just as important to them as yours is to you so why reference to their religion in such a vulgar manner? This sort of mentality that says my god is the right good is why I don't like organized religion in the first place.
My point is organized religion is a method of brain washing people and molding how they think. All you need to be is good person and treat other with the same kindness and respect you would like to be treated with.
I'm not saying apache 2.0.X isn't stable or anything but how many hits does kernel.org get? Now if you had said CNN.com or some other major component of yahoo then I would agree with you.
You assume that just because I'm a libertarians I must be into drugs. You also asume that I don't like guns. I will state for the record that I have never every in my life done any drugs, further more I LOVE guns. In fact I go to the shooting range often. I do however have a problem with people being able to buy unlimited number of guns.
I believe that Jesus was a real person just like Mahatma Gandhi. The bible on the other hand is a whole different beast. Come on, the bible is a fairytale full of bullshit. If you believe the stuff that is in it you might as well believe in Aliens. Plus you know how many editors the bible has had over the centuries? The bible is like a bunch of urban legends that got out of hand. It is too gruesome and bloody for me to take it serious.
I have an iRiver 180T and I love it. The battery life is exceptional and the earphones are the best in the market. The player does have its faults but would I buy a player from iRiver again? Absolutely. They know what they are doing, well at least their engineers do.
I'd recommend that you try the product before you bash it...basic logic dictates that you do this other wise you'd be committing a fallacy.
I swear these wright wing freaks just piss me off.. They believe in God without any scientific evidence but yet they don't think there is such a thing as global warming? Next time some Christian organization knocks on my door I'll just ask for scientific evidence on the existence of God.
why mod parent troll? He is right....isn't what apple is doing the same as what Lexmark is doing (without the DMCA of course)? And $99 service plan to replace a battary doesn't seem right to me.
I agree. We are culturally bankrupt. No one asks the tough questions and when politicians dodge the questions there is no penalty to pay. And then you have all these radio talk show host that simply trying to get you to buy their books. It is disgusting. America as it is today is not the World it was envisioned to be. We have inapt public and weaselly politicians....a very deadly combination.
I purchased a Logitech pad a month ago and boy does it suck. The up arrow doesn't work sometimes and the thumb stick won't respond when you press left. I'm never buy a Logitech gamepad that is for sure!
Don't get bitter, it is not good for the health. All ways keep your bridges open because you never know. If I were you I would go to the executive/manager and simply say "even though you might think outsource your network security, I respectfully disagree and here is why." Point out what the potential problems they will face with this new company and simply tell them that your services will be available to them as a contractor. Walk away with your dignity and their respect and you'll probably get a call from them if they ever need you. Of course next time they call, you'll be pulling the strings. In the mean time collect your unemployment check and look for new job. Maybe it is time to start a new hobby or learn something new and expand your horizons.
If you are talking about 20 to 50 gig of data and monthly backup then I'd say this isn't a bad idea but if you are talking 100+ gig and weekly back then this is definitely a bad idea. You also have to factor in the security of your data while it's being transported, the time it takes to backup and the overall cost of your bandwidth use. Also, a year from now you might need to backup a lot more data so factor that in.
If you ask me it is not worth the trouble, you are better of investing in your own backup system.
...so much so that I'm going to call my daughter Reiser. Sounds nice don't you think?
All I have to say is that the pictures are scary. Very disturbing indeed.

You are talking about professional grade earphones. Obviously you can't compare Sennheiser earphones that come with the iRiver with Etymotic.

Your logic is flawed even if you have a Ph. D.

it would suck to be one of those though. just be glad you were not one of them.

People pay for things they value. My guess is slashdotters don't value M$ products and that in itself doesn't make slashdotters commies.
ummm...if it is your software why not? No one knows what I'v created better than me!

I want a sequal to ShaqFu.
If they are its news to me...I had to wait a month for an appointment...A month!
If the IT world drys up today I'll go to dental school and become a dentist.

Lets just hope that whoever is formating the hard disk doesn't doesn't format it using FAT file system.
If you want to hand cape yourself then Yes. Be warned though, like the pinkie finger, you won't notice its usefulness until its gone.
