Difference is 1) You don't have to pay for it. 2) You can change the product source code if you like. 3) If you don't like it you can go with something else.
Open Source done right is always a win-win situation. Oh and Apache is a better quality product than IIS. Why would you go with something else I really don't know.
Now if the Apache foundation starts acting up and making demands, everyone will eventually dump Apache HTTP server and go with a fork.
I saw the TV ad for this game and I wasn't impressed. Maybe I'm getting to old but this game seem excessively violent and the plot seemed non-existent. Beat up couple of guys and get the job done. Nothing special if you ask me.
The key is to turn your fat into muscle so you can enjoy any type of food. My resting metabolisms takes care of any junk food I might eat. I don't believe in Atkins diet, but I do believe in eating meat, especially poultry. I find that chicken keeps you full and helps you build muscle since it is packed with protin.
If your are not exercise and lifting wights, don't expect to keep those pounds off.

Grandma has to pay here medical bills some how you know. I knew the older folks were desperate but not this desperate. I must say though I impressed by how sophisticated grandma and grandpa have become.
I just did a technote on product activation for one of our products, and in it I said it will cause more problems than solve. Our product isn't consumer product so I asked why do it in the first place (may because it will costs 3-4 million to purchase, guessing here). Also told them that once it is out of our hands any determined individual can compromise our product by doing memory profiling.
Now I'm I going to make the decision to incorporate product activation in our product? No!!!!! The business people will make those decision.
I love my system admin. He installs all the software I need so I can be more productive coding. If my system crashes and dies I don't spend 3-4 hours re-installing everything, he does. He is fast and efficient. And just recently, he pulled a miracle and is going to get me a Dell 450 Workstation with all the bells and whistles.
You sir are probably some punk kid that doesn't know shit. In the real world system admins are valuable commodities that are appreciated (except of course BOFH).
Google is talking 15 billion, M$ is worth 314.57B and has 50B in cash!!!! It is by far the riches company in the world. Frankly, it could do anything it wants and buy anyone, including some of the big boys. About the only companies it can swallow are GE, IBM, and Intel. The only think keeping them at bay is anti-trust laws.
I do believe the article said they will be available in 10-100 years. If was a betting man I'd say it will take at least 40 years. By that time 512 encryption will be useless. At some point we'll be referring to encryption in scientific notation ala 10e32.
The more you give the more your employees will appreciate you. If they know how much profit you've made don't short change them. Give them the maximum you can give. If they don't it's still a good I idea to let them feel appreciated. A happy employee is a happy worker.
Why is the parent moderated Troll? Parent post has valid points.
GoLive is by far the best tool out there. I can't fathom why Dreamweave still has a tight grip on market. Maybe all those UI guys just like to stick with what they know best? Time to update those skills and go with GoLive I say.
If I were starting a new project this is what I would use. Hopefully this would give some of you/. folks something to think about.
+ Eclipse (IDE) + Hibernate (JDO like Persistence) + Jetty (or Tomcat). + Spring Frame Work (struts is out). + Oracle (or your favorite open source DB).
I really...really...reallly want to try some of the stuff the SCO people are smocking. Without having tried it I can tell it's some seriously good shit.

See we develop large maintenance manuals and our current processes produces PS files the size of 10 gigs. We have to take those files and convert them into PDF files. Once they are converted to PDF files, we can't delete the PS until we have verified that the conversion precesses didn't introduce glitches (which it tends to sometimes).
Plus PS files are much bigger than PDF files. If you ever encounter a PS file bigger than 2048MB you are in deep dodo. Can't produce PDF files from it without having to split the PS file first then generate PDF files from it, then merge those PDF files. As you can see there lots of processing involved.
Our next system will generate PDF files from the onset. No middle man PS files. We will cut our production time from 6 days to 2 days.
5 stars despite many know problems/issues? Something smells fishy to me.
Journalistic integrity requires that you never give a product with know issues 5 stars.

It all comes down to compilers. You can design and build a game on one platform then compile it to run on another.

"...merger with Microsoft." ???
You don't merge with Microsoft, they simply take you over.

C++ - C-- = broken C++?
I like to think of it has C Pound.
it's basically GOTOs....that is so 1970's.
He got you too? WTF is continuations? Exception handling?
Please speak American. We don't know what continuations are.

You speak of being correct yet you use the word "anals." Perhaps you meant to say "keep your anuses to yourself?"
oh the irony....
BSD is dead man. Time to switch to Linux.
