    The BSD license clearly doesn't restrict your choice of license for any derivative works you may make.
    Which is exactly the point. Theo is arguing that Linux is not allowed to use GPL for their derived product, thus arguing against the spirit of BSD licenses ( and making no sense).

    Well usually money gains access to stuff when you spend them. The news is that now a days you get free stuff from the federal governement if you have enough money, and not just trinkets, but free stuff in the order of $200,000,000 dollars a year.

    Conventional wisdom says that if someone has physical access to your system your data is no longer safe. Only if the data is encrypted and passive, does it stand a chance.

    If I wasn't ready to do that, I would not have been able to own a PC in the 1990s. Seriously you have been "spoiled" by the lack of innovation and development in IT the last 6 years. Computers used to drop much faster in price than iPhones.

    Atkin's diet. Many Americans now think carbonhydrates, carbs are the main reason for obesity, but fat is good. So they view low-carb products as healthy, and high-carb as baaaad.

    There are already thousands of .docx and .xlsx files out there, and MS can't abandon compatibility for them, but listening to most of the comments would require them to break compatibility (fix the date system for instance)

    The OOXML files out there are not even compliant with the standard as it is. ECMA changed several issues before approving the standard and Microsoft haven't update MSOffice to fix them.

    Damn it, the only reason the americans have invented the term libertarianism is because the democrats has adopted liberalism to describe their party platform and right-wingers despise it so much that they needed another name for the parts of liberalism they like.

    Nokia phones are no better than a standard phone. Nokia is THE standard phone. They have that position because: They make properitary extensions that other companies need to copy, they make cheap phones, everybody has one, and getting the same model as your friends enable more features.

    Nokia is the microsoft of mobile phones. Cheap, crappy and ubiques.

    And repeating that sentence over and over doesn't mean there is no causation. Correlations are important, because they do imply something significant every now and then.

    In this case the correlation is mostly comical though. So laugh.

    They are all mere comedians. Find it ironic or not; The Daily Show is the single most factual source of political news and comentary in the US.

    The deficit is that you sell a CD-player for 30$ dollars, but another one in your house-hold buys one for $45 . That gives you are trade deficit of 15$. Since you don't have any money you loan the $15 every time you trade, slowing putting you into deeper and deeper debt. With your lack of logic it is no wonder the banks are going bottom up in America.

    Yes exactly, and that at least some Christians use their ideas, not to enrich themselves, but to help others. There is a huge difference from an organization founded on salvation, and one founded on selfenrichment. Though if the leaders of the Christian church didn't believe it would probably end up in the same as Scientology (as it sometimes does).

    You wouldn't want a 16 processor computer?
    Not with Intels design, no thanks. On Intel all cores share the same bus, making it more and more congested with additional CPUs. The usefull limit is somewhere between 4 and 8 cores with that design.

    Sweden is Social Democratic, not socialist. Denmark is the very definition of Social-Liberal. Canada is some combination of Conservative and Social Democratic. None of them are socialist. Socialism actually implies a certain amount of non-democracy as the ideology states that the people do not know what they want. Social Democracy is Socialism without the autocratic elements.
