The problem with template engines is, of course, that they are either not powerful enough for what you do, or they become a new language by themselves. What good does it do, to replace a php if() { }else {} statement with some uber-xml-template-engine's ? None, other that everybody who needs to use your system has to learn another language.
For a php-product of ours, we have chosen to simply use php as the template language. The codebase itself is OO and seperate from the html, but somewhere you just have to have a loop through every row of a result making a table with it. And right there you have to mix logic and presentation, because presentation becomes part of the logic.
Thats total BS of course. What would happen? Let's say there is an impact in Jerusalem and everybody thinks its a nuke. Israel has WMDs, but what are they gonna do? They have no target.
Let's say the impact is in New Delhi. India might blaim Pakistan and both of them have Nukes. They might even use them, yes, but it would still be contained on the subcontinent.
There is no szenario that would cause a real global war. Thats simply because all the superpowers are more or less on the same side now, and none would risk all that for a local conflict.
Actually, lots of traffic signals here in Germany have touch-sensitive Buttons, which can't really be pressed. You just touch them and they notice the change in temperature.
Since you don't get any feedback, it doesn't really satisfy and I'm always left with the feeling that it didn't register the request at all.

We use a lot of open source software, so I'm always looking for good ways to contribute to the oss-movement, but the consequences are too difficult to judge.
We actually thought about making our source open for the benefit of non-profit organisations (it's a project-management software). Has anybody made any experience with something like this? We are talking about enterprise-level software here, not your average free-for-students-ide.
The main straight part of the boy's shadow is also almost perfectly in line with another long line of shadow (telephone pole? overhead cable?) to the right.
That might have to do with the fact that the same sun shines for children and telephone poles. Therefore, all shadows are aligned.

seriously, when do people realize, that the underlying technology should NOT be reflected in the name?

they patented them, and wolfpack is certainly a registered trademark.

I don't like LCDs to have _any_ form of integrated speakers.
I have my surround sound system and don't want to pay for stuff I'll never use.
